A technique I developed (well rediscovered)

I have a pretty good memory so I remembered how I used to try to fall asleep when younger and have Lucid Dreams almost all the time, It basically involves the opposite from those popular techniques (WILD, WBTB) which are real alien to me.

So I'll basically post the steps:

      1) Get REAAAL Tired, I mean so tired that your eyes are burning your brain to sleep

      2) Try to sleep, but not as you sleep normally, fall asleep within your conscious mind.

Now when I saw fall asleep with your conscious mind, I mean the same way you fall asleep after getting up and feeling "groggy" when you wake up in the middle of the night for a WILD and WBTB. I have no idea how successful this would be for everyone but it works 90+% the time for me. The problem with this is that it takes VERY long to drift asleep and it can sometimes feel like you're still awake when indeed you are Lucid.
      --------------------------------------------------------------
      EDIT:
Something to note, doing this makes me feel very tired so it may more or less have the same effect on you

      ----------------------------------------------------------------

Well lemme know how well this works out for you! Appreciate the feedback!

Well, my friend this is pretty much a WILD or a wake induced lucid dream. This is essentially a WILD if you want more info on it just go to the Wiki on this site under tutorials. It's good you have found a technique that works for you!

Little grammar problem here. 'Literally' means you're not joking, and it's impossible for your eyes to burn your brain for the only reason of you being sleepy.

      2) Try to sleep, but not as you sleep normally, fall asleep within your conscious mind.

I kind of like the technique, but would you recommend anything to do in this conscious mind state? Mantra, visualization...?

I might just try this if I get the chance.

well not really, not unless it can help you fall asleep faster, but for me all I do is clear my consciousness and relax then sometimes my eyes pop open and I'm not tired, kinda how it feels when I wake up in Lucids

So I guess I can say meditate whilst really tired could summarize what I said in the OP.

oh well the way I've seen it explained on some websites it was some longtail winded post for something so incredibly simple, never really analyzed it to be the same, but thanks I'll give it a look through

Don't get me wrong this is smart, I was just saying it's a simpler version of the WILD technique. I have found the WILD technique very successful and so have many other people think so too! Just check out the Wiki I bet it would help!

Well, DV is not "some other website". We do have some pretty cool tutorials

And yes, WILD is incredible simple but not easily understood. All you need to do is fall asleep while staying aware. But, this will become apparent only after you read the long tutorials, try them out, understand the basics and go through trial and error, until you truly understand.

This is the longest tutorial we have. Oh, and it's the best too. It's worth every minute of your time.
