'Foggy' day to day head issues. Memory issues/attention issues. Will it still work?

I really want to WILD. I plan on doing another WBTB/WILD this morning. Last night I tried but I had issues going back to sleep because I was hungry. :/

I actually thought I was pretty close right before going to bed at night. I felt and heard more before falling asleep. When I tried at night, doing my best to ignore my growling stomach issues, I didn't feel anything which was actually disappointing. I think I lied there for over an hour if I recall right. Perhaps it was my stomach distracting me? i need to stop skipping meals.

I went to bed at like 12:30 a.m and got up at 4:25. I think i did it way too early. Rem comes later I heard somewhere.

My biggest issue of course (sorry for getting off subject) is the whole foggy mind issues I have. I blank out a lot, and my focus sucks. Are my efforts in vain?

Sorry for the huge block of text.

Meditation will help the focus issues.

If your mind drifts to other things then finish the thought and return to focusing on what you're doing. Something that helps me is to go through all of the days activities and then keep my mind blank. If you're not thinking of anything at all and just relaxing you'll get into it quicker.

Also, yes stop skipping meals. Your body wont have the energy to function let alone your brain and if you can't keep your brain functioning properly how do you expect it to realise you're dreaming?

Thank you. I'll try and keep my body at a decent eating schedule.
I dont know exactly what's wrong with me, I have headaches all the time and I 'blank' out. But I will certainty try the meditation.

How does one meditate correctly and how can it increase focus?

The eating thing is probably why

The closest I could find to a tutorial on meditation was this: http://www.dreamviews.com/f157/dream...on-1-a-131666/

But usually what I do is sit in a comfortable position and clear my mind of all the rubbish that goes on in there and just think of nothing. It takes some practice but it should be like not one thought is passing through your head, your mind is clear and you feel at ease Sorry, I know my explanation is not the best. If you want anything in there explaining just ask

I tried really hard this morning to WILD, that's what I want to do more than anything. If i eventually do it, it will be my first lucid ever.
It's not the eating thing, I just use my head to much. I like to create visual imagery with loud music. It makes me feel faint, but it's addictive to do. It's like AMV's I suppose, but my own stuff. (i'm weird I know)

Thanks for the link! Even though i failed last night, (two and a half hours of just lying there-it was hell) I'm not giving up!

I don't recommend lying down, I don't know about you but I find that really uncomfortable before long

You mean meditating? I try and lie on my back when attempting lucidity, I usually lie on my side.

I would suggest to anyone who wants to learn about lucid dreaming to first understand the processes of falling asleep and subsequently dreaming. Knowing your mind and body's natural routine when it come to sleep and normal dreams is very important in discovering what method might work for you. Wikipedia is a good place to start.

Spot on Faceonmars, so many people are metaphorical "babies" only a couple months old trying to get up and run as fast as the famous Bolt. I mean, good on you, i love the enthusiasm and lust and that's whats going to help you... but you must first learn to walk or even crawl before you can run. Also, touching on the eating thing, try not to eat a meal before bed, i usually eat a banana if i'm hungry concidering they have a nice taste and good nutrients within that help with mind functions as well. You don't want your mind and body's energy focusing on breaking down, and absorbing nutrients from your food etc While your trying to go lucid.
