Sometimes I feel my body being very heavy. As if I was pinned down. And when I think about moving, I don't move. But not because I can't, but because I never give my mind a signal to move. I feel so comfortable, relaxed, almost as if i was drugged.
This feels totally different from when I had SP. Then, I really tried to get up from bed. I felt my sholders and muscles trying to lift up and move, tried to scream, but could not. I ddn't feel pressure on my chest, but I did see aliens around me.
So it's really up to you to decide what you had. But it doesn't really matter if you experienced SP or not. You don't need it to lucid dream, but if you have it, it will not hinder you either. Wheather you have it or not, just go on with your attempt. Here is a good WILD (sageous) tutorial.
You don't always have control in a lucid dream. And you don't have to say out loud "I'm dreaming". Just realizing it it's enough. It's common to wake up right away or after few seconds from a LD. Especially if you excited about it. That will get better with experience. Have you tried stabilizing?
