I am practicing DEILD. What other methods should I use to help me achieve my first DEILD?

I have been practicing DEILD. I am planning on working on it for a while. Ever since I started practicing it though, I stopped doing regular reality checks. I have done a little bit of ADA in the past, but didn't keep with it for long. I do keep a dream journal.

I think I have the main technique for DEILD down, I just need to keep practicing it, and find what works best for me.

My question is, should I be doing anything else to help me DEILD? Should I keep doing regular reality checks, or does that only help with DILD? Should I start practicing ADA? I will do whatever it takes to help me DEILD!

I think you should keep up with awareness exercises like reality checks (questioning surroundings) maybe not extreme as ADA. But the beauty of Chaining (DEILD) is you don't need any real prerequisites except for dream journalling

Ya. I just had 2 lucids last night from DEILD. I havn't done it in months and I just jumped back on. Felt strange to start lucid dreaming again. But some advice for it would be to set up whatever sound you have to wake you up, and listen to it several times telling yourself not to move while you hear it. Also make sure it'll wake u up, but not too loud to overdo it. Lastly make sure it lasts a few seconds. I find that extremealarm on android works well. Free app you can set up. When I use it, I set up a 5 second alarm that increases over the 5 seconds. I usually wake up at the very end of it, then fall back into a dream.

Yes, that is what I have been trying. I am still trying to figure out what alarm settings work best for me.

I am currently experimenting with it around 2-5 seconds. I am also trying to find the right volume for it.

Try visualizing the dream you exited from.... we dream and we imagine in the same area of the brain. I think that visualization primes the pump for lucid dreams.
