Lightbulb How I've attained lucidity (beginner)

How is your life? Is exciting, constantly changing and you couldn't say a single bad thing about it? I doubt it, wouldn't you prefer to go to a different, exciting and awesomely fun and/or beautiful place?

I would, I'm currently in high school so at least 50% of my life is high school and the other 50% is around it. So, here's the only common denominator in my lucid dreams:

They're just too good to be real.

Is just as simple as that, no matter if it's because it is astonishingly beautiful or just too convenient, they're just too good to be true.

As example, my first lucid dream was probably "lucid", but I didn't recognise it as so, it was about going to a new high school, or more concretely [link]

My second lucid dream was slightly similar, I went to a new high school, however this was way more realistic, like a 4.5 in a scale of 5 of realism. Almost any detail was filled in, it was not about fantasy or beautifulness, it was about just plain incredulity. Imagine leaving your boring, repetitive and generic high school and going to a completely new one, specially one that features:

-A lot of social rituals you've never seen before and with a lot of friendly people
-A rather crazy girl that eats snakes as food and that helps you with your stay
-Up to three reality inspired dream characters you can talk with
-A luxurious room for you and 3 of your roommates with two computers and a carpet, a carpet!

Too good to be true, my high school doesn't have even 1 computer per every 5 teachers, and a carpet was just too much, result:

Option A: Well, this is a rather expensive high school, so this is normal, everything I'm getting here is what I wasn't getting before because my mum just plain sucks at choosing the right high school, plus she isn't rich to pay for this more than a year.

Option B: This is too good to be true! Even if it had an explanation, I must be dreaming!

So, next time you want to lucid dream, just relax, have first thing in your mind the idea that "everything is a dream" and preferently a strong conformity to a normal, dull life, and then first thing of your next fantastic dream, becoming lucid!

Then, do whatever you can, trying to "live" in the dream is quite a good idea specially if it is very original, fun or beautiful, but don't forget to do things according to your personality, are you looking for freedom? Fly over all your problems. Do you just want some fun? Start doing thing whatever you think could be fun that you can't do in real life. Are you a lonely geek trapped in a boring world like me? Make your own perfect high school, fill it with loving people and have a philosophical conversation with the first dream character you find! It's the most custom thing in the world!

P.S: Be sure to be able to stay conscious as much as you can while sleeping, if you wake up in the middle of the night and then you go to bed without completely losing conscience, you may have a DEILD, that is, a free lucid dream!

      Hey there.
I like the way you don't concentrate on a method or a way of getting lucid in a dream. You keep things simple and exciting to dream about what you desire (in your case the "carpet" ).

On IRC i talked to a guy called f0rcezz and he sent me a Lucidipedia video on that topic:
