      I purchased all the gear..

      take 5htp, go to sleep, wake myself up 5 hours after, take 500mg of choline bitartrate, 8mg of galantamine and 1.2g of Alpha GPC.. the magic combination in the advanced lucid dream guide.

      First time I did it, worked like a charm. Tried it another 3 times and didn't work, although did have very interesting dreams.

      Can anyone give me a dose adjustment or other small easy things I can do to improve my chances of lucidity?

      Well, as you know, all these are just supplements. They may help, if you have good foundation. By that I mean solid knowledge of WILDing process. I don't know which tutorial have you read so far, but here is a really good one. WILD (sageous) Read it and compare to your procedure to see what you could do differently.

      All these supplement are not a magic pill. They may give you better chance at lucid, but first you must provide the best conditions.

      I started with 4mgs of GM and it worked great. You could start with 4mgs and switch to 8 later, if 4 doesn't work. Good luck

      You can't directly control lucidity with drugs.
      If they are, in fact, having an affect, they may still be somewhat of a help, but don't just rely on outside influence for an internal issue. You, or your brain need to learn how to be in that state, with your awareness intact, on it's/your own.

      Try any of the main techniques along with the supplements. (WILD, MILD, DILD, etc..) Make sure you do reality checks throughout the day. You can find plenty of tutorials in this stuff around the forum, especially in the wiki. Supplements alone don't make you lucid.

      Stay consistent and you will get it eventually. It can take some time! good luck!

      ^^ Yep. Listen to these folks - they're right. You need to develop the foundations before resorting to supplements otherwise they just become a crutch. It's recommended (for very good reason) that you don't start taking any supplements until after you've had a couple of LDs without them first so you understand what it feels like and how to achieve them.

      Personal testimony here - I was doing fairly well having lucids without supplements, though not having a lot of them, and then I decided to get Galantamine and a few others. It gave me a great boost at first, and made the lucidity much more powerful, but it also caused some negative effects - for instance my lucids while on G usually involved partial or complete blindness and difficulty walking or moving, plus the sensation of cloth against my skin (real world signals coming through) and I usually found myself just laying or sitting somewhere very passively unable to do anything except watch whatever is going on right in front of me - and it usually wasn't much - even the dream itself was very passive, not just me.

      And unfortunately because I was using G as a crutch I stopped practicing awareness and RCs and all the prep work that's necessary, so it caused me to lose the ability to get lucid afterwards either with or without supplements. Now I haven't had any lucids at all for a few years and lost interest to a large extent because I lost the momentum of all the practice and enthusiasm I had in the beginning. I believe it was because I started using the supplements, or more properly because I let them become a crutch and then stopped putting in the effort and prep that's necessary.

      Sorry to bring the party down, but as the saying goes - if you can't be a great role model then at least you can be a horrible example!

      I don't mean to say never use supplemensts at all, but definitely don't use them all the time. And I know - trust me I know - when you first get them in you're drooling every night and can't help yourself - you've gotta use them every opportunity! We all go through that at first, but you need to get through that part and to where you can exercise some self control - don't use supplements more than once a week or better yet every other week. And definitely think of them only as literally a supplement to the real work and training necessary in order to achieve lucidity.

      Thank you all for the great replies. One thing I would say is I did have my first lucid dream ever the first time I took them, so I would definitely say they are useful. Also, the supplements are all excellent cognitive enhancers so your brain will probably thank you for it

      I am not very familiar with all the terms, could anyone else please provide direct links to the articles I need to read?
