You might get a few different opinions so here's mine. Take a break from lucid dreaming and take up meditation. Meditation is a different way to exercise your brain and achieve new experiences. It's a whole different universe of theory and reading material that you can explore. There's no "failure" in meditation, just new experiences, sometimes challenging. It doesn't have to take up a lot of time. Even 5 minutes a day can be rewarding. Meditation has many benefits and one of them is that it can improve lucid dreaming. So take a break and learn about something new to rediscover your motivation and curiosity. Then come back to lucid dreaming and try to look at it as more about enriching your life than about arbitrary definitions of success and failure. |

Thank you for your help but honestly, I'm not very interested in meditation. Even though Lucid Dreaming is some sort of "meditation" I can't really be bothered to spend my time reading books and information about meditation. All I want to do is to learn how to induce myself in ONE single lucid dream so that I can confirm that its actually worth spending a lot of time on. |

I know that you REALLY don't want to keep a physical DJ, but at least try to. Physically writing down your dreams does heaps more than just storing your dreams in your head your whole life. I'm not saying its the thing holding you back, but it can't hurt to try. Even if you can't write down in the morning, find another time to write them when you have some free time. I personally haven't gotten a lucid yet, but I've been really close and I probably wouldn't have if it weren't for me reminding my mind that dreams are important to me. |

Well, two other things I'd recommend: |
|
Learn how to hypnotise yourself. |
|
This. |

Check out "A Practical Guide to Self-Hypnosis " by Melvin Powers (pdf version) . It's just one of many books on hypnosis overall, and I've been using it for weeks now, and even though I don't have as much time to focus on it, it definitely works. It works for me because it makes me see that it's about getting into a suggestible state that gets results. |

One big thing to help is finding a technique that you can enjoy doing. Most every technique will work for you given time and effort. Remember to keep logs of what works better for you and small changes that might make it easier overall. |
