      WBTB Problem

I love WBTB. I (sorta) had a lucid dream the first time I tried it out. But there is one major problem which I am sure many people have. I live in a house with my family. This means that I can't have an alarm that is loud. The alarm doesn't wake me up if its on vibrate. I was wondering if there are other alarms that are quietly effective or if there are any natural ways to wake yourself up at the right time.

You can check the "Lucid Aids" forum for different alarms.

Have you tried mantra? "I wake up at [insert time]". Tell yourself you need to wake up at certain time. Like when you have to get up at unusual time, maybe you have noticed that your internal clock wakes you up near that time.

Or, start paying attention to micro awakenings we all have during night between dream cycles.

What I do, is I drink some water before bed. That wakes me up 2-4 hrs after that and if I'm not ready for WBTB then, I drink some more water to wake me up little later. Obviously, more water you drink, sooner it will wake you up.

I used to use this method for WBTB, now I use it to record my dreams.

I Downloaded "a calm stream" ringtone and use it for my alarm. Its nice and soothing and not loud at all..that and vibrate I think will works for you.

I'll try the mantra tonight. Is drinking water the only way that I can pay attention to micro awakenings or can I use a mantra for that too?

Mantra "I wake up after dream" could work for that. But if you know about micro awakenings, and you set your intent to notice them, you will start noticing them more and more.
