      uncomfortable sleep and lucid dreams?

I am not sure if its just me..but whenever I sleep uncomfortably (IE: someone next to me, camping on uneven ground, the floor) ill have spontaneous lucid dreams...I can be drunk as a skunk with my mind clouded and it will happen, though they only last seconds last time I was laying with this girl and she moved and woke me up seconds after I got lucid anyways...is this a common thing and if so why can't I get them when i sleep comfy?

Sleeping in unusual positions and/or locations often raises one's awareness, from my experience i got more lucid dreams from falling asleep in semi-sitting position on the bed during my naps than from going to bed normally.

      What he said ^

This is why I prefer to sleep on my back, since it forces me to remain aware. It increases the frequency of hypnagogic/hypnopompic states.

I tried this last night (woke up 10 minutes ago) and all I ended up with is a sore neck and a lot of questions.
