      Help with seeing through eyelids!!

Ok for some time now I have experienced something weird in the early hours of the morning or when trying to nap especially.
I start to see an object ( I have no control usually over what I see) and it becomes so real looking that I know I must be dreaming or about to enter a dream. But the moment it gets to its most realistic looking, it fades away and I'm completely awake. I have read it described on here as seeing through ones eyelids, and that is exactly how it feels. Ive had plenty of LDs, so I know what one feels like and this is like being on the door way so to speak of entering one, but then turning around and walking away :/

So how can I use this to my advantage? Any thoughts?

This one is especially tricky one, because it's disguised so perfectly as being awake. What's happening is that you are dreaming. All you have to do is take a leap of faith and stand up from sofa/bed, or roll out of your body. The moment you do so you will realize you are in LD. Good luck

It sounds to me as if maybe you are still just in H.I. during an early stage of nREM. I find that really vivid H.I. do not like to be directly stared at (LOL.)

Try passivelly observing H.I. as if it were just clouds passing by in a scene. If you are not sure about your sleep stage, just passively watch. I would hold off on trying to initiate any action until the sensations or visuals seem to remain constant for say a minute. That is not the case if you enter a full REM setting complete with scenery and a dream body (then just get busy having fun).

Gab's advice makes good sense at certain stages of sleep, so I am just suggesting a moment in which you observe for consistancy in the images. H.Is can be very vivd and a hell of a lot of fun. H.I.s in fact could be a good hobby onto itself. However, in early nREM sleep, you can still cause your physical body to move. Just experiment.

Combining Gab and my advice: Observe passivelly looking for signs that the visuals have some consistancy. Notice if the images are staying the same for many seconds, or if they are more like advanced H.I. If you decide that it seems much more likely to be dream imagery, than H.I. attempt moving your dream body.

Thank you sivason. I jumped the gun on this one and assumed the OP sees the room, when she clearly says it's and object. You are absolutely right. *goes and RCs
