Unhappy A wee bit of a sleeping problem when attempting MILD

I repeat my mantra regularly, and meld them together at times, though I end up repeating them alone afterwards.

While I repeat them, I believe them and focus on them, but when I do this I struggle to sleep. I surfed and searched everything on DV and remain fruitless. Can anyone help with this?

A few questions to reinforce chances of help and to improve MILDing.

1: After repeating my mantras and visualizing my scenario of becoming lucid, I find nothing else to do afterwards, I then start repeating my mantras again, but it keeps me from sleep. I think I discovered the problem, I am aware of being awake or something. Can anyone provide a solution?

2: How can I make myself sleep if my mantra the last thought? Other thoughts tries to creep in my head and if I keep them at bay I become more awake.

Any solutions will be appreciated. I am a bit unsure of to discribe my problem, so I will ask more things or tell things depending on your answer of solution on this.

Sounds like mantra keeps you too awake, you could try to repeat mantra at slower rate, at least that's what i do when mantra keeps me too awake and it works.
As for the second question, just don't concentrate on other thoughts, keep the mantra and fall asleep.
Also i suggest checking out this tutorial on MILD, you could get some helpful information to improve your technique from here: http://www.dreamviews.com/attaining-...technique.html

I agree--this can be pretty tough. I still haven't had much LD success with MILD, but I HAVE learned how to fall asleep with a mantra. I'd just repeat Checker666's advice--slow down the mantra. I find that "hearing" it more slowly (and possibly in a "deeper" tone) can help make it soothing rather than distracting. If I hear it in time with slow breathing it helps me block out other thoughts and I find myself drifting off while repeating it.

Just stop the mantra after 15 minutes and sleep. Remember that what you say doesn't matter, it is what you mean. Keep the meaning. Drop the words.

Those are all good advices above.

You can wait until you falling asleep to say your mantra. It helps, if it's the last thing you think of, but it's not crucial.

THank you all for the advice! I will keep them in mind when I MILD again, for now I'm going to focus on recall and recall only, when I mastered that I'll go here again and use your advice.

Just stop the mantra after 15 minutes and sleep. Remember that what you say doesn't matter, it is what you mean. Keep the meaning. Drop the words.
