I'm Relying On Luck To Get Me Lucid...?

After several months break I've decided to start LD'ing again. The previous time I had tries It went pretty well, I was able to attain lucidity relatively easy as I Used WILD & DILD all the time however I was terrible with dream control. Now Its the opposite way round as I've been practicing dream control when lucid which has been due to luck (i think)... I have terrible dream recollection. So what I'm saying Is at the moment i'm relying on dream signs that I discover in my dream at the time, up to now they are my dog (who recently died) which makes it pretty easy to recognise I'm dreaming and underwear for some reason... Ive had about 4 LD's in the last 6 days trying to identify these. I also tell my self until I fall asleep I will have a LD and recall dream signs. Point being this isn't very reliable but it seems to be working I would like to know If i can enhance these skills, allowing me to secure my self a chance to LD instead of hoping. Is there a specific technique for this. Can I do anything throughout the day to increase my chances of LD besides RC'ing as they were not completely helpful for me when I was more active.

Also I haven't been writing my dreams down at all... at this point I'm not to bothered about dream recollection, I just need to anchor myself... are dream journals essential. or are they just used to recall dreams?

      Thanks.

(LucidMaximums...that reminds me a spell of harry potter. Lumus maximus! 3rd movie when harry is trying to read in bed. Amg old memories )

Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a way to get lucid in every single dream...unless you got loads and loads of practice or are just naturally good. You can use a diverse range of techniques that achieve pretty great results, the better the more you practice But keep in mind, if you mix them you will only get more lucids, a good trick is to combine all these methods ^^ Dream signs are a way great to induce lucidity, but if they don't show up...heh :x

Take a look at this thread and see a technique that fits with you. Practice it for a month or two and re-evaluate your lucid dreaming frequency. Good luck

To add to what Zoth said, i suggest you to still write dreams, unless you have near-perfect recall that would last for long time. Dream journals are not only used for recall, but by writing/typing dreams you think about them more, analyzing them, you think about lucidity as well, thinking about what you would have done at various points of them if you were lucid, or alternate ways you would have done it if you were already lucid, and all that helps increasing chance to get lucid overall.
Also you could try ADA, here's tutorial on that, many people had alot of success with it: http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...kingyoshi.html

Also adding to what Checker666 has said, writing down your dreams not only helps you remember them, but it places an importance on your dreams. It gives a message to your brain saying, "Hey, these things are important, we want to remember them!" It'll help you a lot along the way.

      Good luck in your lucidventures!
