      I cant think during dreams?

I don't know why...but for some reason when I get dreams,I can't think! Btw I try the DILD and MILD techniques. I've been on a dry spell for nearly 2 weeks now. All I've been getting lately are regular dreams. But during the regular dreams,I can't think! That makes it difficult for me to become lucid. I really can't think in my dreams,It's like Im in a 1st person movie or TV show but I can't do nothing about it,I'm just watching. Any advice on this please? I want quick answers because Im going to bed soon and trying WBTB with MILD or DILD.

Stay sober. Learn mental discipline skills during the day.

So practicing mindfullness meditation can help with achieving lucidity?

I personally think so, depending on the practice.

There are many forms of mindfulness, but if you focus on concentration (one-pointedness) and combine this with a strong confidence in your mental abilities, you will be able to control a great deal, not only in dreams, but your waking life, and your physical body (within reason). There is no doubt that this practice will help with every lucid dreaming technique, but as far as gaining lucidity from dream consciousness is concerned, there is debate.

I suggest trying DEILD if you start getting fed up; or WILD if you are a more confident person. I like the idea of having direct control myself, and if you follow Sivason's advice, this will become easy with time. Practice makes perfect, and the journey is what matters.

If you practice daytime awareness and self awareness, this will transfer into your regular dreams and you will be getting moments of awareness, that will make you question where you are and prompt you to RC.

Dry spells are normal. 2 weeks is nothing to worry about. Check out this self-awareness article. It's part of a WILD tutorial, but it's great for all techniques.

And here is a short awareness question together with RC and mantra.

Thanks for the advice. Last night I had about 4 dreams. I was actually able to somewhat think during them! However I wasn't able to realize that I'm dreaming, but I was still much more aware than usual. I also tried WBTB last night and the night before, but the problem is that I was in such a deep sleep, that I ended up sleeping through the alarm without hearing it! I set the alarm at 4 am both nights. Is that too late? Should I set the alarm earlier?

The time of night does not matter as far as the clock goes. What matters is how long you have been asleep. Aim for 5 to 7 hours after starting sleep, and see what works. It can be as little as 4.5 or as much as 9 hours, just depends on you.

Alright thanks. And what is the best time to go to bed for lucid dreaming? Through out this dry spell I've been going to sleep at 12 o'clock at night and sometimes at 1 am.... Should I go to bed earlier?

I think what matters most is how long you sleep before the attempt and if you are getting some good quality rest. And if after WBTB it's already morning and people in the house or neighbors are noisy, try to push your attempt to earlier hour, while everything is more quiet. If that means going to bed earlier, you may wanna try that. Good luck.

Last night,I failed again. :/ I woke up naturally at about 3:00 am but after I went back to bed I just had normal dreams that I can barely remember. I guess I'll just start using WILD,because MILD and DILD aren't for me.
