Wink 3rd lucid = SUCCESS! Just a few tips that helped me and may help anyone struggling

edit: this is regarding DILD technique

Hey guys! Just had my third lucid, and man, what an experience! My current goal was to maintain lucidity for more than ten seconds, and the dream itself ended up being about 45 minutes! Anyways, I just thought I'd post some things I think helped me succeed.

      1. Don't stress lucid dreaming: I don't know how many of you do this, but I had a big problem with overstressing it as I was going to sleep. As a result, it would keep me up. So, just go to sleep. That's the best thing I could do for myself. I think I induced a dryspell on myself the previous week just by overstressing

      2. Don't get bummed, get excited! My dryspell last week was probably also a product of getting descouraged, and that can really hinder your ability to lucid dream or even dream for that matter. Get excited about lucid dreaming! I think one thing that helps is daydreaming. Imagine all you could do in a dream, and let your mind have fun. (I don't recommend you do this during work or class though )

      3. Read Puffin's DILD guide. It's very thorough. And it helped me stay organized and aware during the day. Serioiusly, before reading that guide my reality checks were unvaried and sloppy, and I never really made a conscious choice to question my waking life.

These of course go along with everything you know about lucid dreaming and requirements for it that should be second nature (dream journals, RCs, etc.)

Hope this helps anyone struggling! Happy dreaming!
