Everybody is different, you may need one forever, you may gain your recall then never use one again, you may boost your recall but not use a Dream Journal, you may start summarising your dreams to only tags. |

I've had many ups and downs trying to attain lucidity and tried mainly DEILD and WBTB. I recently realized I was a lot better when I had a dream journal and lucidity happened spontaneously in the middle of a dream (DILD). Maybe all I need is a dream journal and no special method at all. I've been wonderind if people here keep dream journals forever ? |

Many of the practices we do all serve their own purpose. |

All I can say, is that whenever I don't write in my dream journal regularly, my LD count goes down. |

I write down only interesting LD's to DJ, mostly because i want to share them. |

I'd say forever, not meaning you need to write dreams down forever but the dream journals usefulness never goes away. I stopped writing down my dreams and went from remembering vividly 3-5 dreams a night to only bits and pieces of 1 dream. I am slowly bringing my recall back up but then again some people may not need it as long as you think real hard about your dreams in the morning. |

With me, my lucid dreaming pretty much relies on dream journalling. Some people are different of course as RDM said. It helps me recognize my dream, I can sort of tell myself to watch of out for certain things when I read true my dreams. |

I think you do need to keep working on your dream recall forever, especially if you're spending a long time in the dream world and becoming lucid a lot. |
