      The Feel Good Lucid Dream

Hi everyone. I wanted to share with you a possible new technique. Unless something like this has already been devised.. The closest thing to this idea I can think of would be SSILD but this idea is a little more simple and doesn't take much thinking at all.

This technique is also great for lazy people who seem to always be too tired to get out of bed for a legitimate WBTB.

So, I suck at becoming lucid and I wish I had lucid dreams more often. I find it extremely difficult to realize that I am dreaming amidst the clearly nonsensical happenings of my dreams.

But I've recently noticed a pattern where I realize I'm dreaming almost effortlessly when I acknowledge/recognize a very simple concept in the morning between when I wake up and fall back asleep to dream.

And that concept is just realizing and feeling how amazing your body and everything feels, just lying in bed, being rested from sleeping for a few hours. So instead of going against your true intent and deciding it would just feel better to fall right back asleep, and give up any chance you had of having a lucid dream, you are basically harnessing that tired energy into a profound awareness of enjoying the tiredness. This makes it automatically easy to hold awareness, while still being very easy to decide to fall asleep.

The other thing is, I never even left my bed during the times I've succeeded in doing this.

So really all you are doing is setting an alarm or waking up on your own, and then instead of just saying 'screw this' and going back to bed, simply remember to enjoy that amazing sensation of your body completely gravitized to your bed, and just feel good! I am almost certain that just by doing this, you will have more vivid dreams by default.

Thanks for reading, give it a shot and report back! I'd like to see if others have results with this.

      I like this idea!
I've been reading The Power of Now, which has to do with being aware in the moment and just letting yourself experience what's currently happening. This seems to go along with that. I will definitely give it a try. I think I actually did this yesterday without being completely aware that I was doing it lol, I'll certainly try it with full awareness next time.

      Yes.

This sounds great. I'm lazy, and I like lucid dreams, so this technique fits me perfectly!

Also, I will try this tonight/tomorrow.

I've been doing this subconsciously for years, and while I don't lucid dream very often my dreams are always very vivid. hopefully practicing the other techniques along with this one will increase my awareness to the point that I can achieve lucidity regularly

glad to hear that it worked for you slumber, and a great idea on your part OP! I think as a general rule just about anything you can do to increase your awareness without making it hard for you to go back to sleep is going to benefit your dreaming. pretty sure this is going to be useful for people more often than not, especially us lazy people

i tried it 4 hours after i slept. i was very dazed and i tried to feel the sensation of my body on the bed, how i'm aware of every body part and its weight...tho i didn't feel amazing, i felt irritated and had trouble sleeping a few hours afterwards. maybe i'm trying it too early? it would be great if you go into detail, the timing, the thought process , etc. but i do recall dreams better, and they're longer as well .

Ah, I'm sorry, since I wasn't active on these boards for quite a while I can't remember the meaning of all the abbreviations you guys use on here lol. Wanna refresh me? I know there's a post that explains all the different names for ways of becoming lucid and whatnot.

DILD is dream induced lucid dream, WILD is wake induced.

This technique sounds great, is it like WILD? Or can you move freely? I'm going to try this tonight because I'm lazy when it comes to WBTB.

I feel like its more just a mode of awareness you get into before you fall asleep. Try not to put thought into ''Am I moving around too much?'' or anything like that, its kind of just going asleep, being aware of what it feels like to be in bed (hopefully enjoying it!) and just going to bed normally.

Hmmm. I hadn't really thought this through as much as I should have. I guess maybe it just isn't a technique for everybody, sorry about that

i always wake up during the night and sleep seamlessly, maybe it's the fact i hadn't had enough rest prior to trying the technique? the technique won't work for everyone but i'm sure it's effective for someone like me, if done correctly.

      It actually worked.
I woke up in my room, went over to turn on the lights but none actually worked, i instantly knew it was a dream. Amazing from the first try.

Interesting. I can try it, but only on the weekends.
