Somebody can relate to this problem?

So I am trying to lucid dream for 4-5 months now, I don't really use a method, sometimes I use MILD when going to bed and each week on saturday I use WBTB (most of the times I got lucid from it).

But my problem is that I realized I was dreaming 9-10 times in this months, and none of them I could stable the dream and start to contrlol it and live it, those times it's just or I do RC and suddenly wake up, or I am trying to stablize the dream using the rubbing hands, breath deeply or just one time that happend to me when I stablized the dream but I couldn't control it, just watched myself doing stuff (that happend like two months ago).

Now, my problem is not getting lucid and realize I am dreaming, my problem for now is that every time I get to this situation I just wake up or trying a few seconds to stablize the dream and keep failing...

Somebody can relate to this problem? I am trying my best inculding writing dreams, doing RC's and now I think I would start using the All day awareness method (ADA).

So please if you guys can help me I would really appreciate your help.

It sounds like you're on the verge of a breakthrough. Seriously, you're SOOOO close. This is the time to keep it up. Don't do too many things so that it causes stress. Remember, it's all a game, have fun with it! The more you relax and let it happen, the easier it will be. If you're too attached, too excited, that drives the LDs away. Adding in awareness never hurts, as long as you're taking it lightly.

I would say that you have get over the hardest part so far. Wich is to realize that you are dreaming, so very good job there! Not waking up will probably be easier a piece of cake for you. All you need to do, is to stay calm as soon as you realize that you are dreaming. Dont panic, and start to do all kind of stabilization techniques. At the moment you realizee that you are dreaming, just let your senses do their things, no need for thinking at all really. For example, feel the textur of the ground. Take a close look at something and see how it trasforms in shape, right in front of you. Maybe pick something up and feel it's weight. Taste it/ smell it. And that will work as a stabilization technique for you. But dont rush it, just take your time and keep your senses involved. Ow, and keep doing that ADA practice for sure! Good luck to you.

I do stablization thechniques but I usually get the the point that I dont have enough time to breath or feel things, the dream immidetaly crashes...

Sure that sometimes I have more time to do it but in general it so fast and intense that you only think about ''I have to do something quick or I will wake up!''.

I'll try the ADA method and see how it's going to help me, I have a good feeling about it.

If you feel that you dont have enough time, then so it will be. It sounds like you have been to fixated with time. So when you dream and wake up after a few secounds, you "know" that you dont have enough time. And your mind will keep playing this game on you, that you must be fast before the time runs out. So you get caught in a mind game about time, and you trying to fight it. Please do this instead. Keep working on your awareness, and tell your self this. I dont care if I wake up instantly after becomming aware in my dreams, or if I stay in it for a long time. Just count every time you get aware in a dream, as a victory in it self. And then you will soon be able to get out of that frustrating time game that your mind are playing.

Other friends of mine also told me a similar thing of this that it's all in the brain and in the mind...

So next time I'll have a lucid dream, I need to just think that I don't need to do things hurriedly? just do it slowly?

Actually, it's not even about thinking it. You can remind yourself to be calm, but in the end you got to really feel calm to make the magic of it to work in you favour. Just be your self and explore things as you had all the time in the world instead. Also, your friends are right. What the mind believes, that will be the rules that it play by. So basically, stop care if you wake up after a few seconds. Just care about to experience with your senses with a relaxed approach. So no need for doing it, fast or slow. Just do.

There's your problem - try to not do anything at all - no prepared stabilization manoeuvres - nothing - just go on dreaming and keep in mind, that you are.
Might not work - but this panicky rattling down of stabilization stuff - you confirm to yourself, that you need it like that - and you might actually not get anything out of it at all - except get in a stress and fear and wake up.
Just relax and go with the flow - there is nothing you need to do.
I have the same problem - and in my last one - this approach worked a treat.
Wasn't perfect - this dream was a bit unstable towards non-lucidity - but I didn't wake up - and I found lucidity back after intermittently getting sucked into the story too much.
Most advanced LDers say - no - they neither use it nor used to use it - for some reason, it's given as advice to newbies all the time.
Even Ophelia Blue has wondered on the last podcast, if not this "having to stabilize" is a phantom propagated by well meaning LDers, who themselves don't do it - at least partly.
Just drop it - expect to stay in the dream without any of it!
      Good luck!

You can practice/pretend becoming lucid: stay calm, look around you, count to five, slowly walk fowards, slowly turn in a circle and look all around you. I like to rub hands/pat down my dream body. Tell yourself with confidence, "my dream will be long and enjoyable", etc.

edit: sivason points out that as we gain experience LDing, our LDs move to earlier and earlier parts of REM. First LDs tend to happen very close to waking up, making them a tad more fragile. Not true universally perhaps but something to keep in mind and something to look forward to!

The next time I will have a lucid dream I will just be calm and stay still, breathing and watch everything I can, I hope this will work!

I actually done this a few times before (just a minute or so) and I find it fun, I will do it more often.

And I didn't know that about LD and REM sleep, thanks for the information, it keeps me optimist!

Thanks for the comments guys, you really made me feel confident with this usefull information, just need to practice and the results will get there!

My suspicion is that while you may realize you're dreaming, you haven't yet grasped all that implies.

From EXPLORING THE WORLD OF LUCID DREAMING:

"If fully lucid, you would realize that the entire dream world was your own creation, and with
this awareness might come an exhilarating feeling of freedom. Nothing external, no laws of
society or physics, would constrain your experience; you could do anything your mind could
      conceive."

Maybe it would help if you chew on the idea that THE DREAM WORLD IS ENTIRELY YOUR CREATION and potentially subject to your every whim and expectation.

Next time you find yourself aware you're dreaming, instead of trying stabilization techniques, look around and study your surroundings. Get the idea everything you see, hear and sense is your own creation. It's YOUR dream. Let that reality sink in and see what happens.

It may be unique to me, but when I use this approach, it's not long before there's some unmistakeable signal from my dream world... thunder and lightning and the sky turning orange for example... it's like the dream world is acknowledging that I'm God of this dream, and I go fully lucid. Once when I did it, the sky cracked open, like cracking an egg. Everything fell away, and I found myself floating in a lake in a whole new world, which was something I imagined when I first read about LDing.

Anyway, give it a try and see what happens.

      Niall
