      Recognized I was dreaming but..

I couldn't become lucid. For whatever reason, I was into probably 5 minutes of my dream and I kept saying "I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming" but everything was still blurry.

I've also been listening to binaural beats for lucid dreaming and hoping that would help me to lucid dream.

Lucid dreams can sometimes feel vague or fuzzy, but that is not the norm (at least for me). Is that what you mean? Or did you have a dream wherein you said "I'm dreaming!" but still did not seem to have control of your actions? The latter can be worked on, the former I'm not entirely sure about.
