      More vivid dreams!

I need to know how to have more vivid dreams, it's the one thing that is keeping me from having truly amazing dreams. DO NOT suggest dream supplements, I'm not prepared to spend money on lucid dreaming, I want to do this awesome stuff for free, that was why I liked lucid dreaming so much in the first place, so I didn't have to spend money in real life to do the same as what I can do in my dreams for free.

Autosuggestion is a good place to start. Pick out a Mantra centric around improving dream clarity. Repeat it to yourself.

      "My Dreams are Clear..."

Another good trick is to focus on some sensory experiences in waking life, with intent of them carrying over into the dream world. (Say you want to have vivid taste in a dream, when you eat, focus on the taste and try to remember the experience.)

A regular sleep schedule helps with dream clarity and recall.

I've also found that dreams that you have in the morning are more clear than the ones you have earlier on in the night. Target your lucid dreaming efforts to these times.

If you happen to become lucid then you can attempt dream stabilization techniques to increase the quality of the dream. (You've probably heard of rubbing your hands or shouting 'clarity now!' to increase the quality of the dream.) These have the added benefit of extending the amount of time you have in a lucid dream as well.

Sometime when I try the SSILD method, I get vivid dreams. Maybe it could help you to get more vivid dreams.

Focus a bit more on your senses is waking life, pay a bit more attention to details, and you will probably find your dreams becoming more vivid and detailed.
Maybe dream recall is the problem, your dreams may seem blurry, while it is just bad recall.
