      Am I DEILDing?

So I have recently started trying the DEILD method. I've been at it for one or two weeks I think. However it's pretty different from what I expected.

Every night I just think "I'll wake up after my dream and stay still." and surely enough I catch myself waking up and I stay still. However I can't fall asleep because for some reason when I do that I have my arm agains my chest and can feel my heart beating slightly fast (maybe I get nervous or unnadvertedly tense up) so I give up and move, Sometimes even opening my eyes.

When I do that I start thinking about being in a dream. I visualize a place, try to imagine physical sensations and when I'm realize it I'm in a lucid dream. Sometimes I even go into a false awakening where I RC to make sure I'm dreaming. At some point I wake up fully and can't go back to sleep.

So the reason I'm confused is because most tutorials describe a wild-like transition, with HH and SP etc. While my transition is kinda "blurry" and calm if that makes sense. When I realize it, I'm there dreaming. This is pretty consistent tough which I'm happy about. Happens almost every night if I remember to try it. So I'd like to hear your opinions.

DEILD transitions can be pretty quick and simple, without all the stuff that a “full” WILD contains (though even these can be fairly uneventful; it just depends), and there can certainly be some smoothness or “in between” as well. DEILD is essentially just a shortened WILD.

Stick with it Cookino, a week or 2 is probably not enough. You are remembering to stay still and keeping your eyes closed after waking so the hard part is done. Stay focused on re-entering the dream or another one if you want. Do NOT think about your real body and resist any urge to scratch or move. DEILDs can be a FA, its no where near as good as a direct transition.
      Patience108 and Cookino like this.
