      Therome's Documented WILD Journey

Hello Community, I hope this is the right place for something like this. I'll be documenting my progress of me WILDing on this thread. I've been a lurker on here for who knows how long (I can actually probably just go check when my last post was) but have been only kinda half trying to WILD and achieve lucidity, but to no avail. I've maybe had over 100 failed WILD attempts, yet this way is the most direct and is why I aim on perfecting it. Hopefully this will hold me accountable in trying more consistently, along with others being able to point out what is wrong in my technique if I fail. I'll be posting before and the morning after of every WILD attempt, including a bunch of details and variables as well. Wish me luck, and here this goes!

      Hey there,

      Good luck!

I can relate when it comes to WILDS. Although I've had them, like you I've had so many attempts which fail and still can't do it with any sort of regularity. So I look forward to reading your log and learning from it!

      Post-WILD Attempt 1:
Can barely recall waking up to alarm clock, essentially went to bed right as I checked it. However, I believe I had a DILD, as I entered a dream and then realized I was lucid!!! I honestly was just walking around a restaurant when I noticed that I was dreaming all of a sudden. I was probably one step above the lowest level of lucidity, it wasn't super vivid and I didn't do a whole lot, probably lasted 30 seconds. This is my first lucid dream however in over a year!. Sadly the WILD completely failed, tonight I will be putting my alarm clock further away from my bed so I wake up a little bit more as I turn it off.

Hi, no such thing as a failed WILD - if you dont transition then you have had a great meditation practise that could lead to a DILD (heightened awareness before sleep) and also you got some practise in

Anyways, why sre you not investing your time and efforts into DEILDs instead. They are basically a WILD but with 80% of the work already done! Once mastered it wont matter if your lucid dream ends early cause you can simply slip right back into the next one.

Thanks for the insight, ezzolucid, I guess I've never looked at failing a WILD that way. If WILDs do not work out for me I will go ahead and work on DEILDs, yet this is a technique that I really wish to master for its direct approach I guess.

      WILD Attempt 2:
Estimated time of falling asleep - 9:30
Alarm clock set for - 3:30
Time I'll be waking up at for real - 6:00
Adjustments made - I am setting my phone farther away from me this time so that I will wake up a little bit more to register that I am trying to WILD

      Post-WILD Attempt 2:
I woke up this time and was awake enough to register that I was supposed to WILD, but I had trouble getting comfortable trying to fall back asleep, and after most likely 5 minutes of laying still but not feeling tired at all I decided to give up. I will try lying still the next attempt for 10 minutes and see if that helps, along with adjusting sleep positions as well.

      WILD Attempt 3:
Estimated time to fall asleep - 10:00
Alarm clock set for - 4:00
Time I need to wake up for real - 6:30
      Tiredness level (1-10) - 7
Any changes - phone farther out of reach in order to wake up more, try to lie still for at least 10 minutes
