Im trying to induce a WILD, but whenever I wake up in the middle of the night after around 6 hours of sleep, I am not able to get the scared feelings of sleep paralysis of out my system, and I think this is preventing me from getting into the hypnogogic stage. I never have experienced SP before so Im not sure what to expect. I have generalized anxiety and I am terrified of the idea of hallucinations. Can anyone shed some light on this and what the best thing for me to do is? |

There was a thread for this yet I can't remember where, but like Phoebus said, sleep paralysis should not be a goal when trying to WILD. Sleep paralysis often starts when the dream starts, so you might not experience SP during your WILD attempt. |

Note: I'm big on grammar, you won't see one error coming out of me!
I have never experienced sleep paralysis before, yet I have have done WILDs before. So I can say, depending on the person there is a decent chance you might never experience. Also SP is harmless anyway, since basically your body is just going to sleep. Are you afraid of sleeping? If no, there is no reason to be afraid of SP. Tell yourself that and it should help. |
