How well do you think this will work?

Right now im.doing a 10 hour waking night shift.....i.whispered 2 mantras into my phone *voice recorder* and then put my headphones in and loop the 2 mantras.
Iv been listening to these 2 mantras for an hour now on loop and wondering if im.busy and not paying attention to the words that they might hit my subconcious?.....the only negative is that people say that you haveto really think about the words when saying or listening to a mantra for it to fully work?
Iv listened to these 2 mantras for an hour now on loop through headphones and yes its abit annoying listening to my own voice over and over but surley listening to these for so long should take into effect if i keep doing it? Any suggestions? Thankyou xxxx

I think you explained it well yourself. If you listen to these mantras for a whole 10 hour shift then you're probably not going to pay much attention to it. I find that, for most forms of MILD, focusing on the mantra is the most important part of the technique. If you don't focus then you won't achieve maximum results. I'm also not a huge proponent for things involving subconscious and recommend just focusing on it intermittently throughout your shift, maybe during a downtime or every 30 minutes to an hour. Though I don't think there's really any harm in playing these mantras for your whole shift outside of getting annoyed/bored.

Also, don't take it so seriously. Lucid dreaming should be a fun nighttime activity that you take a little time out of your day to achieve. It shouldn't be the major focus of your daily life (unless you want to live on these forums ), just something to make use of those 8 hours every night .

A mantra is supposed to be singular, but having some self affirmations is good. Self affirmation is good foreground and background. Your mantra is kind of supposed to always be a background idea. I have done something similar with my mantra (I'm dreaming) and found that if I did this, I would come up with the words in my dream, since one of the main points of LDing is not only awareness in itself, but awareness of the dream state, so if that word comes up, it is a good thing. All around, I would say it is a good supplement practice, but would need a good sleep schedule and night work to work.

People act like habits are a bad thing. You need habits to ld. There are good and bad habits. People act also like something in the background won't work very well, but you can't keep dreaming in the foreground all the time, but for a lot of techniques, the goal is to move something from consciously doing it, to unconsciously doing it.
