That makes sense on a lot of levels that you would keep your eyes open.

Paraphrasing, I would say that it gets lumped together with sorcery and mediums, just like it does here at times. I studied it for 3 months before starting to LD, looking to see what all of the people were saying. Most were just like "Bible says not to do sorcery!" which is kind of just... dumb when you look at what the author was saying to the recipient. I am actually a missionary, so I wasn't really worried too much if my parents were against it, but more of if the Bible was against it. After researching, it just doesn't come up, and the only logical conclusion in my mind is that LDing is just a dream that you realize that you are dreaming, so if lucid dreams are evil, then so are dreams, and there are tons of dreams mentioned in the Bible (some even that the person seems to know that they are dreaming) always in either a good or neutral way. I have a lot more to say on the matter, but I am gonna just end it here, since that is probably the "best argument" for it.
After deciding that I wasn't against it, it was more of a matter of convincing myself that nothing was there to fear. I don't really fear much anyways, and I just went through my ways to fight fear, the one that worked the most was to focus on what you are doing and not worry about the future that you are preparing for, and then when the scary part happens, focus on the past or even further future. This takes a little mind power, but helps a lot. I can usually use logic or averting my mind to almost erase fear.
Of course, since then, I can use LDing to fight fear, and so I have gotten much quicker and more concise about stopping fear in waking and in dreams.
