Something that has helped me tremendously with my dream recall is a consistent and healthy sleep schedule. A good sleep schedule, meaning falling asleep and waking up at the same times as well as getting an adequate amount of sleep, will help get your REM cycle into sync and thus help you with dream recall and frequency.

An added benefit, however, is that such a task is quite the undertaking and will require a lot of work on your part. You'll have to plan and schedule your day in advance so as to get to sleep at your designated time, and also exert a considerable amount of willpower in order to fall asleep at an early time. By devoting so much energy to trying to get your sleep schedule consistent and healthy, you'll be inadvertently thinking and focusing about dreaming and lucid dreaming almost all day.

I've had a lot of success with this simply because my motives are to achieve higher rates of LD's. If you strive with the same intentions, you'll not only be getting an added health benefit, but a whole lot more focus towards lucid dreaming. Hope this helps
