Reality checks:
Practice, practice and practice. Aim to do them once every 2 hours, ( a digital watch?). When you do, pretend that it is a dream, and that it works. This will make the reality check more likely to work when you are dreaming.

Dream journal:
Put it somewhere close to you, such as on a bedside table. If you have a smart-phone, you can get it to alert you saying "DREAM JOURNAL NOW".
Most of all, believe you can do it.
