There really is no way to know how long it will take. Some people have a lucid dream as soon as they hear about it, others take a while. Sometimes trying too hard can delay things or impatience or false expectations. My advice would be, keep trying, be determined, and you will get there. And if one induction technique does not seem to work for you, try another one, but be patient and do give each technique some time to work. Do not assume that this will take long because that can be a self fulfilling prophecy too lol. Imagine what it will be like to lucid dream and look forward to it, but don't be disappointed if it does not happen tonight, it will happen soon though.

You may say I'm a dreamer.

Do you think about the right things as you fall asleep?

Like "The next place I will be is in a dream"

or "The next time I see (dead person / pet / long lost freind) I'll know it is a dream"

Maybe your training yourself to think about dreams only in the day

try waking after each cycle (thru drinking lots of water at night an upoon awakening) and set thoughts about dreams in you sleeping mind too

I think it is rare enough for someone to get the first hints of lucidty in under six weeks. How long does it take to dream about checking if your dreaming? I think you need to do it long enough and often enough that it just becomes normal for you. Questioning things on purpose is less 'there' than having become a person who automatically questions thing. Time is one of the only ways to become that. Two things I would say to focus on: 1- Put your highest effort into getting great dream recall. 2- read stuff on this forum every day. I don't think it matters much what you read. All the tutorials are good. Even reading other members Dream Journals is good. Immerse your thoughts in the idea of lucid dreaming.
