      My prospective memory sucks

..and it's not getting much better. I'v been choosing 4 targets for several weeks but I still miss alot. What should I do? I try to visualize me discovering them.

Hey, supplementing prospective memory training with awareness might help. If you have some a reminder of some sort set to go off at random times throughout the day, remind yourself of your prospective memory goals as well. That has helped me. I've felt that motivation helps my performance with prospective memory training as well. Another thing that seemed to help for me was to try to maintain awareness as much as possible throughout the day while keeping the prospective memory targets in mind frequently too. It is sometimes mentally tiring for me.

Thanks for the tips. What do you mean by ”motivation”?

This general awareness of and attention to detail during the day is what is helping me. I also have distinct visual cues that I have set up in my office to remind me to do a RC. The most successful one is the pink post-it strip on my phone. Today I have resolved to look at my hands for 20 seconds each time the pink strip gets my attention.

My motivation (the few times I have had a successful RC recall in a dream) is to indulge myself in major self congratulations upon awakening from the event.....and then resolve to be even more diligent during the next day.

Awareness thing seems to be working, thanks! Hitting more targets trying to be more calm, slower and more in the moment.
