      Back In the Game

      Hey guys,

      I got into lucid dreaming 7 years ago when I saw Inception and joined this website around that time. After alot of help from this site, at my best I could lucid dream almost every day sometimes 3 times a day for about 2-3 months. I did pretty much every technique, and had as many WILDs as DILDs. However, I was practicing ADA and RCs constantly throughout the day, while going to school/work and ended up joining the military. So, it was too mentally taxing for me to keep a dream journal and keep practicing, which led me to stop doing it because I had experienced my goals when it came to lucid dreaming.

      But now I have some time to myself where I can put in the effort again to start experience lucidity like I used to, but I really want to get back into WILD/DEILDs again. I started my dream journal again, and do some RCs throughout the day.


      Ive been at the journal for a week now, and have constantly trying to perform my WILD/DEILD techniques and ive failed everyday for a week. Im trying to incorporate CANWILD because I was awesome at DEILDs. Today, was the closest yet but was too excited to transition during my DEILD.

      Been looking over my old threads to help me out, but has any new information or highly successful techniques that have been posted within the last few years?

      Hey xpin2winx, that's great that you're getting back into it. It sounds like you were doing quite well at a time. I've never seen Inception but I think I should watch it at this point. What is a CANWILD, by the way?

      CANWILD is basically DEILD, but instead of relying on your dream recall. You set alarms that turn off by themselves during your REM cycle. So you do not need good dream recall like you need with DEILD, all you need to do is set some alarms and convince yourself that when you hear your alarm that you wont move or open your eyes.

      For example if i go to sleep at 10PM. Ill set alarms to go off at 4AM, 530AM, 7AM. These alarms will last for 5-15 seconds long depending on personal preference. All you have to do is wake up and not move, and try to enter a dream from there.

      I think CANWILD has potential to be the best LD method, if I can get back to consistent lucids again.

      Oh, okay. Thanks for writing that out. That reminds me of the FILD technique, except there's not finger wiggling for CANWILD. I'm not sure of any new techniques that have come out within the last few years, but I've read good things about MILD, SSILD, and FILD. It sure would be awesome if a technique that worked well for everyone came about. Good luck with getting your LDs back. I'm sure it's only a matter of time!
