I have the same problem. Sometimes even getting up and going to the bathroom is enough to keep me up for hours, I guess I just have an active mind that doesn't shut off easily. A million things will pop in my head while lying there after being up for a while and it makes it very hard to relax enough to sleep. What I've found helps is not to get up at all. After you wake up after 4-5 hours, try not to move much or open your eyes. Realize that you've woken and try to be still and concentrate on HI that will come eventually. It's a good time to briefly turn on the light and write in your DJ if possible but otherwise just lay there. Don't worry about SP too much - not everyone experiences it. The only times I have is when I've awakened from a dream. Good luck! |
