For any of the real experts who can basically become Lucid all the time, out of all the times of your LD's, how many of those times are through DILD's?

I'm no "expert" by your definition as I can't become "lucid all the time".. but 98% of my LDs are via WILD (rarely do I DILD).

I think the experts find MILD the best for induction. Especially Stephan LaBerge, who I think learned to induce lucid dreams at will, and so highly recommended MILD.

I wouldn't call myself an expert either, since I don't really use any techniques besides keeping a DJ, and all my LDs are spontaneous DILDs - but I have them about once or twice a week.

okay, I need help here, pleeeeeeezzzzzzzzz. could someone please, give me the lay person definition between WILD verse DILD? Because if I understand it right, I DILD like a made demon. In most of all my recall dreams I am DILD. Lets say if I have 7 recall dreams that night, they 4 or 5 are DILDS. This is how I started. I would be dreaming in a dream "normal dream" by "simple sleeping" then I would realized that I was dreaming and taadow, I am lucid? Then later came the controlling, then came the I am going to go to sleep and dream this or that, then came my personal techniques for LDs. memory recall or whatever the terminology is. I am still learning the verbiage. So could someone help here. Also throw in MILD too. Could someone brake out with the crayons and draw me a picture, because I have read this site, and still I am just not getting the clue here. Maybe it is because I am self-taught and have blockage of the brain; I don't know. Greatly Appreciated

maybe you are one hell of a genius.

haha or maybe LDing comes naturally to you.

a WILD is where your body is awake while your mind falls asleep, while a DILD is...um... not quite sure exactly. but you dont need to wake up in the night.

DILD - a dream initiated lucid dream. This means that you have to rely on your conscious mind picking up something to consider itself in a dream. This makes this method spontaneous.

WILD - A wake initiated lucid dream, though harder to achieve is or can be a reliable way to become lucid almost always if you can perfect the technique.

I've only WILDed a few times, and I stopped trying to have them for practical reasons during school. I haven't done MILDs, either, so my only LD's are DILDs.
All in all, I average one per week, but they usually come in bunches of two or three in a row and then a week or two dry spell followed by more.

thanks guys, for the help!

maybe you are one hell of a genius.

haha or maybe LDing comes naturally to you.[/b]
and if I wanna be a genius I can, I'll just close my eyes and be one, so there, Haha! but lding does come naturally to me, I just need help with the serious skills I have seen you all attempt and achieve here in this forum. I mean, come on, though I can ld so easily have dream control, and DILD, MILD, and do some WILD ( i think) what does it do me if when I read here what you guys achieve. You guys do these amazing things when you do achieve LDs. I on the other hand am, plodding around, telling whoever is in my dream to back off, get out, or I am rewinding my dreams, and just simply taking what I have been dreaming already and recycling the same shit; or there are periods that I have the most boring cycle of dreams that anyone could have. Now, that I see that this skill can take me anywhere, I am having a hard time and now that I am more subconsciously aware of all this, as soon as I try to go crazy and do what with what I see here, I slip and fall. All though, last night, I needed to fly and I did, it was way cool, I haven't flown in a long time, (journal time).

So again, I ask you what use is being able to ride a bike if all you can do is ride it in a freaking straight line and stop at well, huh? I want to pop willies, and ride with no hands, to do spins and tricks, to do the unimaginable; now that I know that, it is possible, I want someone to give me my training wheels.

I pretty much always DILD, rarely anything else, but I'm more of a novice than an expert. I have a LD about once a week, maximum.
Reality? Where? Did I miss it?

I am no expert but I would have to say halfr of my LD's are DILD. The others are mainly MILD. Rarely do I deliberately WILD as I do not like getting up in the middle of the night.

I believe 225/227 of my lucids have been DILDs. The other two were WILDs, which since last year I haven't been able to do.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Do DILDs become easier the more you have? Because I've tried DILDing a lot for a while and only got one in maybe a month.
