      My quest for obtaining Lucidity...

Ever since I started my Quest I have not been doing so well. Though I do have dreams often and write them down I have not yet been able to find any stratagys for gaining conciousness in my dreams. OT make matters worse I took at least 4 naps today and could not recall them very well at all.

I seek your help... Is there stratagys I should use diffrently? I do do reality checks ( I admit not often enough) and repeat that im going to gain lucidity in my sleep untill I drift off, Still nothing but a somewhat faded dream.. And I've been recording my dreams a good few months now. (If I meditate hard enough in the mornings they will become clear, however I wish I could have them obvious at wake up)

      Well, Help me Yall

      Hm

Well, fellow, there's a plethora of people out there trying to attain lucidity. No one said it's easy, but it is time consuming.

The big thing you should attain, would be patience and discipline. Try meditating for the simple fact of peace and quiet. Test your patience sometimes by forcing yourself to look at things. One thing I would do is when I was in high school, I would get out of class early, and stand in one spot, not moving at all, not to look at my watch, nothing, until my ride came. Of course it may seem weird to stand perfectly still, that's the disciplinary part of this.

This worked great for me when I started loosing my lucid abilities or was becoming stressed in life. Meditating and relaxing is a great thing that the mind and body can't get enough of.

The fact that you created a thread about this perpetuates the fact that it is beginning to be a burden to attain lucidity and may be making you impatient. This would then be your test. Take it easy, step back, take breaks every now and then.

Some people on here make it seem to easy to attain, but for many, it's far, far, difficult, and sometimes, impossible.

To figure out the best way to attain lucidity, figure out why you want to attain lucidity, then work in correlation with those motivations. If you could tell me why you want lucidity, then I'll explain what I mean.. I'd say mine, but I don't have motivations to it.. it just happens..

      Hope I am enlightening,

Thanks O'nus that information was very helpful.

I'd say my motivation would be... to be free to do whatever I want at nights, and to open up my mind and have much deeper thoughts.

....Recently I've been waking up in the middle of the night, a dream on mind.. but I soon fall back asleep and forget... same in the mornings. Just thought I'd add that since Thats two days in a row that I've come up with a empty entry in the dream book.

One more thing that is currently helping me: try to find one day per week where you can sleep really long hours, I mean like from 11 pm to 11 am. During the second half of the "night", set your alarm clock every 90 minutes. It will cost you half a day, but for me it's worth the effort.
      Sleep well and prosper.
