      Sorry...
Yeah, we should totally keep any technique that works really well for us to ourselves.
After all, it's not like we want to help other attain lucid dreams.
I mean, what does he think this is, a forum based on attaining lucidity?

BTW the very first thing he said..."I first want to say that this works for me 100% of the time and I dont know if it will work for anyone else."

Anyways, this sounds like a good idea. My first LD was a long time ago when I was back in elementary. I visualised the place, and bam - I was lucid. It probably worked because I knew it so well. I'm going to try this pretty soon, thanks.

My second attempt of this technique also failed, sadly. I think the problem was that I moved around too much before going back to sleep though. Will continue trying (since it's such an easy technique, I might as well).

The best time to try this would be immediately after awakening because if you leave it too lon you might fin it very difficult to fall asleep. If you try this upon awakening the chances are you will be in dreamland in no time.

No. One moment you are thinking it and the next moment your lucid.

Ok.. so I tried it again with little success... If I don't go straight into a dream after the first time imagined myself in this "familiar place", Do I keep trying?

Not really. Its a type of WILD where you fall asleep while remaining conscious by consciously visualizing.

k so a lot of people were talking about how you should wake up naturally, well if you absolutely cant do this then try this i found from someone else.

Go to bed thirsty, keep a glass of water by your bed, right before you go to sleep, take a sip, but don't drink all of it, during the night your thirst will wake you up, when you wake up, attempt the method.

This allows you to wake up without having to move to turn off an alarm.

WOOOT!!!! I listened to this mp3 while using wbtb and mild and then got my third and most realistic lucid dream yet (first one in a few months too). The dream was kinda strange though because there were no dreamsigns in it. I was changing water in my fishtank and suddenly everything just became lucid and I realized that I was dreaming after things became lucid. The lucid lasted for a while too but strangely I couldnt use any lucid powers at all and when I tried yelling INCREASE LUCIDITY, I woke up...

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TECHNIQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This technique works during awakenings, eh? Unfortunately, I'm not the type who wakes up and is still tired enough to instantly fall asleep. I imagine this could happen sometimes during MILD, where waking is an integral part of it. I'm not a MILDer, though. Since it's summer, I go to bed late (I'm trying to move up my bedtime though). I wake up after I've had enough sleep. Sometimes I wake up and fall asleep again, but I don't think it's instant. I will try this next time that happens, though. Maybe it's a shorter length of time that I perceived it to be. Although maybe not, because I usually get up to use the bathroom before trying to go back to sleep.

      Some questions:
Does it only work if you don't move?
Would using an alarm to wake up, then having to move to shut it off, completely kill the effectiveness of this technique?
Always know sometimes think it's me
But you know I know when it's a dream
I think I know I mean yes, but it's all wrong
That is I think I disagree

DILDs: 2. Current goal: Not wake up instantly from LDs.

There are three things that can happen during a brief awakening.

      1. Your Too tired (Difficult to concentrate and high probablity of falling back to sleep.

      2. Too awake (To awake to fall back asleep, but be careful you might think your too awake but it turns out it will still work)

      3. This is what you want, not to tired but not too awake. You have a pretty good odds with this one.

As for not moving its no big deal, as long as you dont get out of bed. I roll over and it still works out.

Ive tried it with an alarm clock, and i cant really say if it will work better or worse for you. Try it yourself and see what happens.

Sorry for bringing an old topic back up.

I read this method yesterday and tried it last night, and got a pretty funny result.
So I’m doing the lucidity thing, and imagining myself get out of bed, open the door and walk down the stairs. Suddenly after reaching the last flight of stairs, something changes when I enter the living room. It’s my living room, but not quite the same, since instead of a sofa facing the TV it’s a sofa facing a sofa. My parents are on the left sofa, and my uncle on the right. (In real life they were talking downstairs while I was falling asleep) My dad asks me what’s wrong, why am I up so late? I mumble that nothing’s wrong, and groggily walk back up the stairs and to my room, which by now has morphed into room that looks nothing like my own. From there, my normal dream starts.

Seems like my brain tricked myself into believing I really did get up and walk down the stairs. I'll try again and hopefully get better results.
