      Lets focus on what you do when you are recalling >>>

      I am opening my eyes. Well it was a dream. And it fades so rapidly. I cannot hold it and... It gets away. Now I am where most of us are nearly each morning. Empty head and one big wish to remember it all.

      I learned, that I have to be calm. I learned, that the dream should fade in slowly. I learned that i should formulate my wish using every sense I have. And then... I should wait. But there are so many questions.
      Lets start longer thread about our personal experiences, and some tips and tricks we might share to build our common knowledge.

      What do you de just after awakening?

      I normally set my alarm to go off about 15 minutes before I get up. This gives me enough time to sit in bed and think about my dreams. I seem to have mastered the art of slapping the snooze without fully exiting the dream though. So, usually I can keep at least one shred of the dream. This is all I need if I want to recall the dream.

      You can think of dreams as a chain. Each piece connects to another piece. If you can grab and remember but one piece, you can normally work your way down the chain. To try and remember what happened in a dream from a single part, I ask myself things like: What would you have done then? How did you get here? Why are you doing this? The answer to any of those questions will lead you to another part of the dream. Once you're on a roll, soon the whole dream will come back into perspective. If you stumble upon a DC, its easy to remember what they did, when you met them.. etc. When you remember a place in the dream it will spark off the memories of events.

      Normally, I try and tunnel through memories as far to the start of the dream as I can easily manage then go over the main events and emotions.

      If I have a blank mind, I either try to go right back to sleep (just wait in a sleep-like state until I get something I recognize then re-enter so I can get at least a piece of the dream) or I think about what happened yesterday and earlier in the week. If you're lucky enough to stumble upon an object/event/feeling thats common between the two (and there tends to be many) then you can try and work from there.

      Yeah... The chain reaction. If you have one fragment, everything comes back much, much more easier. And that is rewarding. Cool you mentioned remembering yesterdays events. I never thought about it this way. It could help. Thank you...

      Now to questions>>>
      You mentioned: If I have at least one shred, i may continue.... The question would be. Do you try to visualise the shred and anchor it, or do you use something to stabilize your memmory, so it doesnt fade out, when you are remembering complex ideas?

      Do you have some set of questions. You know.. One set you ask each time when you are not sure?

      When the responses doesnt come immediately... Do you wait.. If so, how long?

      Can you access a dream from a period before the one you are attempting to recall. If so... How?

      Thank you a lot.

      Well, I often do something similar to a re-entry/visualization on what I DO remember. Pretty much, I try to relive the moment as much as I can. If you relive the moment, you notice things such as "I'm here but I'm not sure why... Why AM I here?"

      I also never record my dreams anymore >.< It was too annoying and it messed with my recall. Plus, some things just can't be put into words, y'know? Something like an emotion or a concept. Looking at those is the primary reason I recall because these are normally what can be interpreted into my life to give myself some answers.

      Na, I just feel around in the dream. I don't even "speak the questions, more inquire to myself and ponder the dream as a whole. Those questions are simply the best representation of it in words =)

      After A while I will get distracted (follow a different train of thought or have my alarm ring again because it's on snooze) and that night's dream will be lost.

      Luck, mainly. Sift through yourself.

      Often if when waking up I'll have this intense feeling that cannot be described in words, pictures or otherwise. Just holding on to that and searching yourself often brings the physical spark needed. Random dreams in the middle of the night can sometimes be accessed in a similar fashion by searching your feelings as you wake up. Its not uncommon for dreams of the same night to contain the same themes/emotions/concepts

      Thanx much.

      Yess. Emotions. These can really help in real life. Often dreams tell us about our feelings more that thoughts.
      As from what I read. You mention them often. Do they help you in process of recalling? Or at least at the beginning?

      We get distracted often. I know it from my own experience. How does your distraction feel like? Why do you think it comes? {silly questions I know, but still ... you can never know, if two people percieve the same way} And one more. What do you do, If you want to prevent distraction? {if possible}

      >>> arby. One more think. I love your vild tutorial. I am not as experienced. Have had only few LDs, but still. This is the way the tutorial should be written. As much realistic as it could be. Good work.

      I'd say I get leads from emotions just about as much as I get them from other things. Those leads are usually because I'm currently feeling the emotion however. That means, when I connect it into my dream, its really nice because I know why i'm feeling that emotion

      My distraction is usually falling into some random dream when i'm lying there quietly. If I really want to focus on a single dream, I sit up and rest against the wall =)

      So if i understand well. It is often better to leave the bed and go somewhere, where i cant fall asleep but where i find it confortable to contemplate about a dream?
      From my own experience it is often better to leave the bed, and even the room, becouse i fall asleep too fast when in bed.. And after that. It is nothing out of recall.
      Still. Some work has to be done in bed. I have to find at least one idea about the dream, at least one thing about it to fix on it and to anchor it before I leave the bed. And then... Lets have a party recalling in different room.

      But... Nothing is as good as it seems at first.
      I fall asleep often when trying to recall even the first memmory.

      or... {even worse}

      I forget about the memmory while moving away from bed {and thats bad}

      It seems that dream erasers are working even when we wake up.

      Questions>>
      Leave the bed , or not to leave?
      How to stay focused on dream memmory? Anchor it first?

      I don't normally leave the bed. Like I said, I just sit up.

      Sorry I misinterpreted what was written. As for me, it is impossible just to sit, becouse i have such a bed which doesnt allow it {two floor bed}.

      Thanx for responses. Other suggestios?
