Attempting to WILD tonight, wish me luck!

Trying once again to have my first ever WILD. I'm gonna go to bed at 10:30, get up at 3:30, stay up for 15 minutes, and then attempt my WILD. The hardest part for me is to not think about WILDing and not being distracted by whatever is happening. My mind wanders a bit too easily sometimes.

Wish me luck, and if anyone has any tips, I'd greatly appreciate them.

Well, I failed again, but this was the best I've done so far. I experienced two strange sensations. The first one was where I felt as if everything started spinning around quickly, but then that stopped. Then later I felt as if I had sunk through my bed and begun to fall, but that ended too, and I did not slip into a dream. I probably got too excited about both of these. My dog's snoring didn't do much to help either, I really need to buy some earplugs.

This was the closest I've been, but after an hour I stopped and went to bed.

What should I do the next time I feel like I'm spinning/falling? Should I ignore them completely, or should I try to envision a dream landscape?

When you feel abstract sensations, tie them to a real scenario. The most popular (and highly effective) one is to imagine yourself rolling out of bed. You know that you are in bed at the moment, so your mind would accept this logically as your first dream scene. Believing that the sensations are "rolling" will help, too.

But don't actually roll! Just feel like you are rolling!

Well, I'm going at it again tonight. So if I feel like I'm spinning/falling/whatever, I need to visualize myself doing something related to that? What would make me feel like I'm spinning around? Teacups at Disneyland?

      I often visualize myself spinning on a children's merry-go-round:

Should it be in 1st or 3rd person? Hey, I can never be too sure!

Try to keep it in the first person. Make sure you arent looking at your dream, like some kind of movie because then thats all it will be, a dream. Instead try and be IN the dream.

First person scenarios give the consciousness full control over the things that happen in the dream. You watch it from the outside and that leaves the script to be written by what feels like someone else......you lose control. One thing that once used to confuse me about alot of WILD tutorials was the lines, "visualize yourself [insert action here]". This confused me so much because I didnt know if they wanted me to see it on the outside looking in, or as the actual person in the scene. I now understand that its important that you are in fact IN the dream and ALWAYS ALWAYS be the main character.

      Hope this helps!

Good luck, I tried the night before last. I found myself waking up on my stomach after trying to WILD on my back but I just decided I would try a reality check and I found out I was in my dream with my eyes closed in bed. I am going to make sure for now on if it feels like I fell asleep I will do a reality check to avoid losing out on a lucid dream from any False Awakenings.
