Hi PRider, |
|
Since starting on my quest to become a lucid dreamer the last two months or so, I've seen my dream recall improve, and I've also had a couple of briefly lucid experiences. I also seem to be having numerous FA's. Haven't seen this question addressed directly -- but is that a good step in the right direction, are FA's a step towards becoming lucid more regularly? Most of the FA's have come after attempting to WILD, or within a few hours after attempting to WILD. |

Hi PRider, |

Thanks Joe! You are right about the RC's, and I was a total idiot yesterday morning during my FA. I was SO SURE I was awake in bed, and did not want to "disturb" my attempt to WILD and go back to sleep, that I did not perform the RC and completely missed it. Way to go!! |
|
Yup FA's are progress! Congrats, you're getting there! Don't worry about not RCing, we all do silly things like that. Sometimes FA's are so realistic you don't see the point in it! |

My false awakenings always feel like im like 1% away from being lucid. Like this morning, I thought for sure I was awake. I was explaining to my girlfriend the nuances of Tibetan Dream Yoga. Or a couple days ago, I was in a FA telling her about how I can time travel in my lucid dreams. Lucid dreaming always seems to be on my mind in my FAs, even though I never do a reality check. |

Nice progress. Your lucky having so many FAs. Get into an RC upon waking habit and you'll be set. |

The last lucid dream i had i had about 4 FA's during the course of it which I countered by using the spin technique when my body was still in SP. |

I love FA's. I always get the most realistic LD's from those. I wish I had more. |

In dreams of unspeakable joy—of restored friendships; of revived embraces; of love which said it had never died; of faces that had vanished long ago, yet said with smiling lips that they knew nothing of the grave; of pardons implored, and granted with such bursting floods of love, that I was almost glad I had sinned—thus I passed through this wondrous twilight. —George MacDonald

33 LD's (22 DILD, 3 DEILD, 8 WILD) and counting.
It makes you wonder why FA's start after you begin to get lucid. They are so common amongst people who lucid dream, but I can only rarely remember having them, just a few times in my life before. |

That is an excellent and fascinating question Moonbeam. Like you, I don't recall every having FA's prior to starting lucid dreaming. For me, like Robot Butler (funny avatar), it feels like some halfway point between lucidity and unconscious dreaming, which is why I was thinking/hoping it was some kind of progress towards more regular lucidity. And, during most of my FAs, I've had lucid dreaming on my mind when they occurred (for example, I'm laying there trying to invoke a lucid dream, not realizing I'm asleep). I didn't think of it before as my brain "trying to trick me", but who knows! It is interesting why this happens, I wonder what others think? |

Hi, definately!...FAs IMO means U've become more aware of Ur surrounding...the next thing U may want to try is inducing lucids from FAs but from what other people here experience they can get long lucids from FAs but I can't...I do get lucid but it dosen't last long enough to do anything.. |
