when are you trying this technique? if it's before you go to bed I'm not sure if you'll get very good results. The best way to do this technique is to do it after you wake up in the night. You'll have to stay up for a certain amount of time so that you're not so tired that you will fall right back asleep without even doing the technique, but so that you're tired enough that you won't be awake for an hour before anything happens. It's different for everyone, so just try it for a while and figure out how long would be best for you to stay up.
