      fastest wild ever

Hi, just wanted to share something.
hopefully it can help some of you too..
last night i went to sleep at 00:00 and woke up (naturally) at 03:00.
so i`m surfing the net for allmost 2 hours and i become tired and decide to go back to sleep.
on a moment of inspiration, i decide to imagine myself running in the dark hoping the dream would "materialize" arround me (for some reason i thougnt imagining myself running would prevent me from loosing consciousness).
      it TOTALLY WORKED!!!

suddently i started seeing images (as i run) and then i felt like a big wave sweeps me away..or maybe a tornado. (no S.P at all). and then i got "injected" to my LD scenario.

the LD itself was my most lucid ever. but thats another story...

Yeh I think it's the movement thing that helps. Never had a succesful WILD myself , but I usually imagine being on a moving train or something like that when attempting to WILD and it has a very strange effect and I feel like it helps...I just need to do it for longer I think for it to work.

      Anyway congrats! Sounds amazing.

i guess the fact it was kinda WBTB helped too..
i found out that its important to choose the right time to wild and not only the most effective technique.

im jealous. lol. how long do you think you were lying down before ur moment of inspiration came?? when i successfully WILD, it seems like 45 minutes before the transitional state, and i can never really tell how long the transition lasts cuz so much weird stuff happens to me... lol that seemed really simple and effortless. =p

You just imagine yourself running? In nothing? Do you view yourself from third or first person perspective?

i believe it was no longer than 5 minutes. i was really tired and felt like i`m beginning to fall asleep and then decided to try it (without the relaxing thing or the "not moving a muscle thing"..just got comfortable and started to imagine)

yeah, running without thinking about the "background". (first person perspective but i think third person could work too)

Ah, this is pretty much the WILD technique I use. It can work pretty fast, I have managed to go from awake to lucid dream in seconds by using relaxation and visualization. It's a highly underrated WILD technique in my opinion, especially since I've seen that many of the (few) people that try it, succeed.

So lets join our common knowledge.

You told, that the movement itself and imagination are the key for your success. In my own experience, I used only imagination.

Let me enhance this a little. Maybe it could help us to move a little further in understanding and discussion. What if:

      1. Our imagination comes from our memory
      2. Movement helps us to bridge the gaps between constructed imagination pieces.

Let me add a little bit more. In my own experience. the scene tends to materialize faster if I am not disturbed with external stimuly from physical body. But usually when i am imaging static scenes, the gaps between pieces i construct allow my physical body to interfere pulling me from the scene into real world. So if we just were able {trough movement or something else} to create an uninterrupted stream of visualization, the scene would materialize rapidly, just as in your case.

      Hope you understood. {connecting chunks of imagination with movement sensations to create uninterrupted stream of internal sensoric stimuly, which fully shifts our awareness from real world into physical world in no time}

Interesting that you didn't focus on relaxation and not moving. I have a theory. Focusing on relaxation and not moving does help, but sometimes I bet it can hurt, because it requires you to focus on your physical body, thus pulling you away from the dream world and keeping you focused on reality.

It's sort of a contradictory technique.
12 LDs at least (most short), all DILD I believe.

I agree. I used to WILD but was never told to relax and not move, I was never told anything for that matter. I guess I just naturally relaxed because I was tired. I think lately I've been focusing on not moving so much that my mind isn't in the right place at times.

i think that the moral of this story(thread) is to make sure you're relaxed and motionless, but instead of focusing on your RL body (like focusing on keeping it still and stuff) think about your dream body. make sense? =p

Last night I somewhat gave up on trying to WILD, I've never been able to WILD at night before bed anyways. I usually ahve good luck with that during daytime hours when I'm tired.
Anyway.........I think trying to WILD kept my mind in the right mind set for a DEILD. I woke up later in the night but remembered to stay still and keep my eyes closed, at this point I kept my mind focused as if I where trying to WILD. Bam!! quick and easy I went right into lucidness. I'd wake up quite often but do the same thing over and over again just like I've read you should do. I had at least 4 back to back short DEILDs.
If I hadn't slept in so long this morning I'd probly be able to remember more details about what I did while lucid.
This was the first time I can remember having multiple DEILDs, I know if it weren't for the tips I've been reading on this site over the last week I wouldn't have been able to do this.

I'm actually going to start a thread now with this same post.

Just try to WILD if you open your eyes, your body is still almost totally asleep. I think its still possible and easy to get into some kind of lucid dream at this point whether its a WILD, DEILD, or whatever. The point is to become lucid, doesn't matter how you get there, right?

that sounds a lot liekt he technique my foster aprent taught me where you keep your mind active and forget about your body till you body falls asleep and you enter REM.

Since you just woke up and still may have been close to sleep, that wouldv'e accounted for the speed of entering the dream.

thats only what might've happened if you did that technique, i would say that it was a WBTB.

So what do you do before you go to bed to have a WILD? Did you just picture yourself running while you were about to go to sleep?
