when I used to be on here daily, I STUDIED everything that has to do with dreaming, From SP to REM etc. I also have exp lucid dreaming. I could make up a easy story that would completely foo you because I know all the steps in lucid dreaming.

Well, if you say "liar," people get mad, and anger is usually not very constructive.

What if I could never do it and I said I could never do it? What if I accepted your challenge and for some odd reason I suceeded? What then? Would I have actually told the truth with that quote? Would I have been a fibber even if I couldn't do it and admitted I couldn't?

I don't get this part. So, if I can't do the task, I'm a liar? How odd. Is it like those 'tasks of the month' on here? There are plenty of times when I can't do those, but that doesn't mean I "fib" about LD'ing.

And I don't see why anyone would "fib" about LD'ing. That's just weird if they do.

Oh, lots of people fib about having lucid dreams. And I agree, it's weird that people do that.

If you can't do my task, and you admit that you can't, then of course you'll be telling the truth. But if you can't do it and then you make up some nonsense about what supposedly happened in an LD you never really had, I won't be fooled. Clear now?

I thought dreams were always different (feeling and such).
One question is, how do you tell if someone is fibbing or not because I did introduce this to two of my friends (lucid) and one apparently has had them before and the other has no idea about them.

I believe the one that says he has no idea but the one who says its happened before...well he has pulled my leg on other things before and I am wondering if he is humoring me.

Other then that once I can induce LDs a lot by DILD and WILD I guess Ill throw a PM your way if your interested in testing your lie-detection tests .

Once you've had a lot of LDs and you've talked to a lot of people who have had them, you recognize that what happens in them is reasonably consistent. Especially when you're attempting to do something in a LD that someone else has already done.

I've been operating a Yahoo Group for two years in which I've been giving people dreaming tasks, and I think in all that time only one person has tried to pull my leg. She just got consistently results that never matched anyone else's. I never accused her of lying, but all of a sudden I stopped hearing back from her. It was annoying because the things she said threw me off for a while.

Huh, This reeks of failure by placebo and different mental schematas.

I have no idea what the test is, though. And i'm pretty sure I could make up a good enough dream to fool you. I've seen people who have never been lucid before but make very convincing dreams just from pattern matching and synthesizing other's dreams.
