It most likely wouldn't work for you because you don't believe it does. Although, it is kind of like lucid dreaming. Trying to explain it to someone who has never experienced it is like trying to explain to a blind man the difference between red and purple. Even if the hypnosis itself doesn't work, it could easily be a good relaxation technique. If you would like to try it yourself, have your friend lay down and say " You are inside of a very tall building. There are 200 steps down. You go down to the first step. You are now on step 200. Now you are on step 199. Now you are on step 198..etc. " say it slowly, and in an almost emotionless voice ( deeper voices tend to work better ). No matter the results of the actual hypnosis, most people fall asleep by around step 70. Maybe your friend could fall into a deep enough sleep as to not have any control. |

You may have just given me an answer. The pills you are taking, do you know what's in them? There are quite a few vitamins and supplements that will actually make you lucid dream, especially for somebody who LD's as naturally as you. |

"I also live with pain daily from other difficulties. So I have the pill department covered" sounds to me like something that would suggest she has been taking pills for a while, but I would like to hear it from her. Also, I am just trying to find some reason why this would happen. |

Right now it's just your basic Vicodin and anti-inflammatory (prescription Motrin). Garlic and Ginseng, and I'm a faithful believer in green tea, lol. |

Well, a lot of fruits and vegetables have a large amount of vitamins that can cause lucid dreaming. Do you eat a lot of chocolate? I've heard that can effect dreaming. Also, the green tea might be influencing something, along with the ginseng. It's more natural stuff that can cause lucid dreams. How about vitamins in pill form? do you take those? |

I didn't know about the vitamins. I do eat oranges, bananas, grapes. Big fan of broccoli, legumes, most vegetables. |

I think the answer there could be the oranges, bananas and legumes. I believe that bananas and legumes both have a lot of the vitamin B6 ( correct me if I am wrong about which vitamin ) and the oranges have a high amount of vitamin C, which some people say aids in lucid dreaming. I would say to try and stay away from these for a while, but I don't know how your body would deal with that due to how much antioxidants you have been taking in. |

By the way, welcome to the community and I hope you'll see. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or most other members here and they'll be glad to help. Also, you can post threads on any forums and you should get plenty of replies. |

If anything, I would stay away from the potassium pills. I am not an expert in this, but I know bananas have a large amount of potassium and are known to help lucid dreaming, so I would stay off them none the less. |

Aw, well, I seem to have more faith in the DV community than you |
