      Having trouble

I have trouble noticing that things are not what they seem in my dream. I have vivid dreams and wake up with great recall, I remember conversations and thoughts. When I'm dreaming my mind makes up reason for why things are normal and creates 'facts'.

I'm thinking I just can't pull stuff from real life and its making it hard to DILD. I do reality check multiple times and day and have for a while. Any suggestions?

I have this problem as well. What I do every night is to go over my last dreams and see what was dream-like about them. I just keep going over those events in my head, telling myself that if ANYTHING like that happens again; I AM DREAMING. It works for me Give it a try.

apparently the logic side of our brain almost turns of at night, thus we come up with ridiculous explenations for out of place things.

what might help is MILD (mnemonic induction of lucid dreams), which is a sub category of DILD.
basically, during the day, when ever you see somthing remotly odd/out of place, or even somthing as simple as a bird flying overhead. think to yourself, am i dreaming:

-think back to how you got there, is it clear
-try to focus on a particular object, and see if it changes
      -do an RC

but you really have to stop what your doing, take a deep breath, clear your mind.

      hope that helps

Good call. That is what MILD is for. You picture yourself in a dream you just woke from, then imagine yourself becoming lucid in that dream. What dream signs did you miss? What should have tipped you off that it was a dream? If you do this in the middle of the night, as you are falling back to sleep, the logic and attentiveness will carry over into your next dream.
