      Angry Stupid annoying saliva/spit/drool/mouth.

How can I even WILD without water in my mouth? If I don't swallow the water eventually it'll make me cough, and if I do, it just ruins the whole thing!

      Any ideas!?

Well, maybe you can sleep on your side on let the water seep out of your mouth, aka drool.

Aww man, I have the same problem :/

Letting it seep out the mouth gives me a dry throat... Worse than coughing IMHO.

      Maybe drink alot of water?
Stop thinking about food? lol, it's a reflex to salivate when the subject of food comes up.
The question is What is the question?
      Thanks, Jeff777, for adopting me.

in your sleep, your body would naturally swallow. It wakes you up more if you try holding it. Just swallow like nothing, and just get back to where you were. its in the sleep and health forum thingie. I saw it the other day. i have the same problem...

when im trying a WBTB, i somtimes get that, but its only when i think about it. im lying there and i think i hope my mouth doesnt fill with salyva, and it does.

i think the key is not to think about it, which is really hard when it starts to build up.

      Cool Pictures are great.

yuriythebest...That seems to work. I'll try it this night. But the question I'd like to ask is whether having your face straight up during sleep will make attempts to enter sleep paralysis more successful than having your face inclined.

So, pretty much don't even think about swallowing also. Got it. And, drinking too much water IMO makes it very uncomfortable to sleep for me. >.>

the reason the head should be supported slightly upwards is because it it is normal as in image 2 then when you (I) start to enter SP my head seems to drop back a little in a way that opens my jaw inside my mouth, while if it is like image 2 gravity doesn't allow that. Anyhow this posture does the trick for my that's all I cans say.

I find that I naturally swallow my saliva. Just like I naturally breath. I don't control it, I just let it happen, and my body does it with out me controlling it. Once you think about it, then you can't get it off your mind and you feel as if you HAVE to control it, but you don't. Swallowing is a natural part of your body, if you try to stop it then you will have side effects I.E. coughing. Just let your body do it, don't think about it, and you will not have any problems with WILD'ing.

You must remember your body will make some movements that you can not control, and if you try to control them it just ends up hindering your WILD'ing progression then if you just let them happen. You heart is a muscle that is moving none stop inside your body, now with logic that swallowing ruins WILD'ing then so would your hearts beating, but yet do you stop your heart from beating? No, you just let your body do what it needs to do.

So I say the best advice is to not think about it. Just focus on your breathing and let your body do what it would if you were not overly thinking about it.

If we didn't swallow during sleep we would either wake with massive wet patches on our pillow or a mouth full of saliva.
Since I know myself and my partner don't have either of these we must swallow during sleep naturally.
My advice is when you need to swallow and you start really thinking about it, strongly turn your attention to something else and lightly swallow as quickly as possible to make it seem almost normal.
      Because it is normal.
Get this in your head that it wont affect your tech attempts and you wont even worry about it.

      Unhappy Oh.

      Completely forgot about this topic.

Sorry guys...no luck at all, but then again I haven't been consciously doing anything at all due to the restart of school.

      I hate it.
