      Lucid Timer Worked

I had my second lucid this morning after a WBTB. The method I used to induce was Rhythmic Napping. It didn't work as planned, but I had a lucid none the less.

I decide to go with the default interval of the Saltcube Timer. The method is falling asleep after each chime to become closer to the wake-sleep barrier, but I couldn't fall asleep each time. After 30 minutes I turned of the timer and rolled over. The timer ended up becoming a WILD aid, because the moment I rolled into a more comfortable position, I had the "foot fallen asleep" feeling I had with my first lucid and I knew it was coming.

It was rather difficult to pull out of my body and enter the dream though. I could tell if I tried too hard, I would move my physical body. After I had gotten up though, it was easy to move. Everything I looked at had a motion blur, even though it wasn't moving. So I tried to focus by looking at my hands, that was a trip. My fingers started out really small, maybe a centimeter in length. Then, in about 2 seconds, they grew to a foot long.

Everything still had the motion blur, but I figured it was because my room was a mess and I had the memory of too many things lying around. I walked out of the room and everything become so clear. If you've ever had glasses, it was like getting glasses for the first time magnified ten-fold. I could see minute details of the wall clear across the room I would have a hard time seeing right up close.

I went to the window to see what kind of random cars I would see in my cul-de-sac. They were like a mix of '50s style and '70 style cars (I don't know cars too well.) I decided to look away and look back to see if they would change, but they stayed exactly the same and I noticed that the cars were parked in the same arrangement as they were in waking life, they were just different cars.

After that, the dream slipped away and I woke up. It was really easy to slip into the dream after using the timer. I'm going to try the same procedure tomorrow and I'll report back. I think I've found my WILD training tool though.

Congratulations on finding something that worked for you! Let us know if it works again!

Sadly today's attempt was foiled by an early morning request by my sister, but I still have high hopes for tonight's attempt.

How do you use the timer? What's its purpose exactly? Sounds interesting, and I'd like to learn more.

The intended use of the timer is to completely fall asleep before the timer goes off. You don't have to do any concentration or anything like that. The idea is, that as the timer repeatedly wakes you up, you get closer to an awake-asleep barrier where it is easy to enter sleep paralysis, then enter a lucid dream.

Check out the attached chart. When the alarm wakes you, you must remember not to move. It only beeps a few times each time it goes off, so you don't need to hit snooze or anything. It is suggested to use during a WBTB.

I was in such a deep sleep last night, that after I WBTB, I didn't even wake up for the timer. I'm only going to be getting 4 hours of sleep tonight, so I'm not giving it a go tonight. Has anyone else attempted?

I was almost doing this in math class today; I kept nodding off, and each time I would wake up to the teacher talking after a few seconds. Probablly a good thing, though.

I believe that's called the TILD.

DreamChaser I appreciate the Reality Check reminder in your signature I will be trying this tonight, does anyone know of an app on the iPhone that could be used as a good saltcube timer?

Try a simple alarm clock app, set it to be really loud but only go off for a couple seconds, set several alarms to only go off "once".. That's how it works on my android..
      Goals:
Consistently for two weeks recall at least one dream per night [ ]
