      Unhappy Very strange SP episode :(

      For the past two nights i've been almost lucid but its been in and out of awake and asleep...really weird

      Last night (more like this morning around 4 am) I had a SP spell....but it was really strange, it was kind of like I was in a dream and having in but also in real life. I struggled a lot at first, because I HATE the feeling. I finally controlled a SP last week and had a really cool lucid, but this morning it was really hard. I felt like I couldn't breath if I went with it, so if I fought it, atleast I could breath. As I lay there and struggled to control it, strange things happened...

      For one, in real life I had just put my cat in her crate so she wouldn't dig and scratch at my carpet all night, but as I was lying there she was in my room, free, and I thought "oh she must of broke through the latch". I also sat up a few times and started singing, lol, but my boyfriend (who was actually sleeping next to me) said go abck to bed.....this kept going on for a while and one time I thought enough to say "reality check, reality check!" so i tried to do the nose plug but then I couldn't move again like in SP....ughh it was very annoying!!! Oh and when I woke up for reals, my cat was still in her crate and my boyfriend said he never said anyting......

      SUGGESTIONS?????

      RC before doing anything once you wake up, as in

      gain consciousness->remember dreams while not moving->nose RC->etc...
      TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus

      ooo I've never thought about that! If I get in the habit of RCing every time I wake that could help when I get these spells (which is VERY often)

      thanks!

      how come it feels like my chest is about to cave in? I've had SP episodes for a few years and only recently have I felt that i couldn't breath (basically after I've learned I can control it) ...it's like my body is telling me I "shouldn't" know that

      SP can be extremely weird, once in Sp I imagined that I had slid of my bed and broke my neck, and was convinced to the point that I started to panic and of course awoke to find myself in bed completely fine.
      I get SP without even trying and have always had it, I used to hate it but through my WILD experiences I understand it and actually like it now, but you still get the occasional freak out where you think your dead lol.

      That sounds just like my SP history. I started having "SPells" around 18 and I've had one atleast every couple months for the past 5 years now. Like you, I used to HATE it and freak out. Once I read on DV that it can be controlled and used to WILD I was amazed and now I attempt to control it every time (i've only had it 3 times since I've joined) I suceeded twice and then this last one happened. I still hate the feeling every time and it takes a lot of willpower to control it

      Sorry, what do you mean by control it? I thought that if you entered SP and went with it, eventually, you'll have a lucid dream. Supposdly, visualizing with all five senses while in SP will speed up the process.

      I've induced SP twice last week and never had what you guys were experiencing, although, my body did feel heavy and I couldn't see hear my own breath
