      Although your reality checks were failing you still knew you were dreaming right? I've had this happen where I realize I'm dreaming, do a reality check and it fails BUT I just know I'm dreaming. BTW my surefire reality check is jumping. In my dreams I tend to go reaalllllyyyyy high when I jump. Maybe give it a shot!

      The real key is to mentally reality check. Asking yourself "How did I get here?" and "Does everything make sense?" is actually what you're after. Physical RCs like the nose plug test just exist to reinforce that mental check.
