Was this sensation part of SP, HH or something else?

In bed last night I thought I would practice my WILD approach - not to get to a dream, but just to practice and experience nice relaxation in the moment before sleep. I had reached a stage of deep, pleasant relaxation when suddenly a strange sensation swept my body: starting at my feet, the best way I can describe is, it was as though something was inflating my body with warm air. It crept up my body slowly from my feet right to my head and it felt like I'd become twice the size through inflation. It was very warm too - I don't know if my body really did increase its temperature that quickly, or if I was just perceiving it to be that way. I felt like my whole body - and particularly my face - was flushed. SP, HH or something else?

Well I would tend to get that when I attempt to WILD. I don't think it is actually SP, but it is probably a stage before it or something. I will keep my eye on this thread, because I am interested to know the actual answer.

You could have been close to the begining phases of REM Atonia, but it sounds more like HH. Remember, a lot of people only think about images during HH, but thermal, and tactile changes are also common.

It was quite amazing to observe - the way it stealthily climbed up my body, almost as if it had its own awareness. I would imagine that would scare the life out of someone who knew little about the effects of LD induction.

!!! I just posted something about a technique you recommended. But I forgot to mention something you mentioned now. Besides the fast heart rate, I too felt like my face was flushed! I have fainted once (not related to lucid dreaming), and the feeling of my face becoming flushed felt exactly like I remember before fainting that one time. It really made me nervous. I don't know if my face really actually became flushed or if it was just a feeling, but it creeped me out.
