      Internal Attention

Alright, another question about WILDing. Last night, this morning, I attempted to WILD again. Everything was going good. I was staying still, staying awake, yadda yadda. But then, when it came time to switch from External Attention to Internal Attention, I had no clue what to focus my attention on!

So my question is, when switching attention to Internal Attention, what do you give your attention to?

I try to switch my attention to the things that start appearing in my mind. I usually have images or scenes that start to play out in my mind almost like a waking dream just before I actually fall asleep. I'm usually thinking of work or something that happened during the day and it can start as a normal thought but somewhere along the line it becomes a dream. I often don't realize that I have started dreaming until something interrupts it and then I can tell that I was drifting off. That's why it's good to keep looking for dream signs (things that are out of the ordinary) and keep checking to see if you can control things in the dream. It's tricky and it's easy to either wake up or just lose consciousness and sleep normally.

I think that it doesn't really matter. Just try to focus on the dream, and not real life. Then, you should naturally go into the dream. I am quite bad at this. Once I start seeing those images, I wake up! I, as I call it, "snap myself out of it". I am lucky, and still am able to WILD, but under different circumstances. I'll be ok if I'm instantly in the dream.
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

The easiest way to focus internal attention, is to let your mind wonder. Just start thinking about anything and everything that comes to your mind. Passively think your thoughts, what I mean by this is, don't focus on any single thought. Just bounce your thoughts around. I often will change my thoughts several times within a matter of seconds. Once you begin to hit SP these random thoughts turn into visions/hallucinations as HI sets in. Then you passively observe these hallucinations whether it be auditory and/or visual. Hope I could help. Good Luck in your future efforts!
