I've had a couple of experiences similar to this. I didn't get the falling, but I did get some other wierd sensations, followed by my entire body and face going completely numb EXCEPT my chest for some reason. I've never managed to get further than that though, no matter how long I wait or what I try thinking/not thinking about.
