      Exclamation I Need A Problem Solved! :(

      Hello!

When I think about having a lucid, it doesnt work, but (mostly) if I dont think about it at all i can do it. How can i get rid of ths problem, or if not take advantage of it?

Just believe yourself. Know that it's not going to happen every night. Trial and error is huge.

That usually happens when you overly think about lucid dreaming or do extensive reality checks. I believe it has something to do with the way your self conscious works. Like say you think you're going to get hit by a car, fearing it or over thinking about it might cause you to actually hit a car just to rid the fear of it. Same with lucid dreaming, trying too hard might actually 'block' your ability to actually have a normal lucid dream. So it's always best to take a break, give your mind rest (or your self conscious) in this case.

im talking about regular sleeping, no WILDs, just trying to DILD as i usually do, and that works fine, i just have the problem. i think chase has summed it up pretty well, so ill give my head a rest and try not to think about it as much. Thanks. I'll post again if it's not working.

Hmm. You've had lucid dreams before. Do you recognize any pattern, as to what techniques you try and when you have most success?

Also, you can chill out about lucid dreaming and still work on your techniques.

And lastly, it's only been three days. Be patient!

There are a lot of Methods, DILD is the one you can rely on fewest of all. Try WILD or WBTB, they cost a bit of sleep time, but the chance on having a ld is higher indeed.

I don't know, I can't do a WILD. I get too exited about it, or I don't and nothing happens. Help?

Try the Wake Back To Bad - Technique:

You do not have to WILD and it is far more reliable than just DILDing.

thanks for that. i just realized how much more i need to put in mentaly for this, and the importance of dream journaling....i was kinda skipping out on that XD but no more. thanks again, everyone for your advice. i am going to try a WBTB tonight.i read a few tutorials, and i also think i have a little advantage, at least the way i want to do it. im thinking of making a dream journal on here, then i can write about my dream, then play on my dsi a bit (i can have this right at my bed, so i can write it without getting up or anything).
