      Thumbs up My, special, technique.

Best techinique for me, is to wake up half asleep then go to bed (or sometimes it works when you go to sleep normally), then (this sounds stupid) close your eyes and focus on your eyelids (until you feel like your floating, or at least tired) and soon after that you will go into SP (always with a roaring sound for me, but a comforting one, like white noise) which is a pleasant experience in my case .

Then when your in the dream, you can open your eyes and YOU ALWAYS know you're dreaming. But for me, opening your eyes is the hardest part because youre half in control of your body (sometimes) and half in control of your dream body, so you have to imagine opening your eyes if this happens. While you concentrate on this, rubbing your hands together or spinning is also a good idea.

Every lucid I have had is from doing this (about 11 now since joining the forum) but I've tried it every night.

It also dosn't matter if you move after you wake up, to get into a lucid.

      So,

      1) Wake up half asleep (in the night?). Or can be done when going to sleep.
      2) Focous on eyelids.
      3) go into SP
      4) Dream.

      Right?

That sounds cool. I'll try this . Then post back.

Thanks for the replies and also, FFS I forgot, you can't move all the time your trying to go to sleep, and don't TRY to fall asleep, think about all the cool stuff you will do when your lucid (and concentrate on your breathing if your a good multitasker)

      Yep, so summary is
      1) Lie down
      2) get comfortable
      3) don't move at all.
      4) close eyes and wait until you feel really sleepy
      5) go cross eyed/ focus on eyelids
      6) feel yourself floating in a half dream state
      7) concentrate on breathing/ let mind wander/ think of cool things you could do
      8) when you wake up repeat the steps if you didn't get lucid or wanna get back into the dream

      Simple

Thanks for the tip. I tried this though, and when I focus on my eyelids they want to flutter open. Any suggestions?

I tried it last night, it was kinda hard. After about 5 minutes I gave up. Should you ONLY be thinking about what you will do when you are lucid?

      Red face Hmm...awesome!

      Hey,
Sounds like a modified WILD...but instead of getting into SP before REM sleep, you do it at night...
Hmm...Might try this but I don't think it will last very long sinse the time you fall asleep is before the first REM cycle even starts...
Thanks anyways,be sure to try this tonight...
      Sounds like a cool technique...

I use a variation of this technique to WILD. I tried this one, however, last night.
I found my eyes becoming sore because I was focusing so much on my eyelids. Is that normal?
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      Yep, so summary is
      1) Lie down
      2) get comfortable
      3) don't move at all. You can swallow and open your eyes though. If done right, you will find that after a while your body is asleep, but you are concious
      4) close eyes and wait until you feel really sleepy
      5) feel/ imagine yourself floating in a half dream state, but if you don't, then repeat 1 to 4
      6) concentrate on breathing/ let mind wander/ think of cool things you could do to sort of make sure you get lucid
      7) For me, going cross-eyed sort of iniotiates the SP and you know its happening because you get a weird excitement sensation and (for me) a roaring sound like the wind past your ears
      8) When your in the dream, know that YOUR IN CONTROL

EDIT: I did this last night and ad a lucid nightmare. I was lying in bed, and the someone was knocking on the cupboard behind me, but I coudn't move. I knew it was a dream, and stuck my arm out at the cupboard and tries to make it stop, but I couldn't. I also couldn't move. So if this happens to you, just concentrate on opening your eyes, but try to make the dream go your way first.

This method is only good if you just want to finally be able to get lucid for the first time and experience SP.

This does not last long, and it is very hard to remain lucid, or even asleep!

When you feel that your eyelids want to open, keep them open instead and you'll soon want to close them.

Only focus on your eyelids when you feel sleepy, look at theswirling images, try to 'see' something, like half awake. Wait a while, then go cross-eyed.

I'll give it a shot. I don't think I've ever tried focusing on my eye lids.

Isn't crossing your eyes bad for them? I once heard from someone that crossing your eyes a lot can permanently make them stick there. But I guess if they're closed, does it make a difference?

OK that is a rumour, google it. Also, I meant that that is how I as in me get into SP, so each to their own. If you don't want to, don't worry, as it may not even work for you because we are all unique

Yeah I'm trying this tonight as well, as this technique works, just not for that long. What time do you think I should set my alarm if I go to bed at 10:30 (I have a history exam tomorrow so WHY AM I STILL ON HERE AND FACEBOOK GRRR)
